“And did you sleep?”
“Well, I went to bed. I was all relaxed and floaty last night, but now I have too much energy because I have a Daddy!”
Christy chuckled. “Well, I’m happy for you. You two both deserve it. And I think you’ll be good for him.”
“You think…” He hadn’t really thought about being good for Saul. Well, obviously, being a good boy for him, but being a good influence or good partner or whatever? He just knew that they’d sparked a connection on the first day and it had only grown stronger over time. “What do you mean, I’ll be good for him?”
“He carries a lot of responsibilities around. Not that you don’t, but he lets his responsibilities weigh on him and I think you could help him relax. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he has some concerns about his gender identity.”
“Really? That’s silly. He’s a guy.”
“You might think it’s silly because most of the trans people we know transitioned a while ago, and they get read as male all the time. But do you remember when Quinn was in college?”
“Oh, yeah. It was all he could talk about. I don’t think he’s mentioned his transition in years, though. Like, he is trans, but it’s not a thing.”
“Well, I could be wrong, but my guess is that even if Saul’s not saying anything, he’s probably thinking a lot about who he is, how people perceive him, and how he fits into the world. You always knew him with a male identity, but I’m sure he’s aware of how many people in his life didn’t, including most of the office staff and his family.”
“Huh. I guess I should have thought about that. He just seems so confident and in control all the time.”
“Doms get nervous too, you know.”
“Wait, really?” he teased. He’d certainly heard enough of Christy’s own insecurities over the years to ever think it was easy. Dominants had to be responsible for so much stuff—which he was forever grateful for so that lucky subs like him didn’t have to. “So what do I do? Should I call Quinn and ask for advice?”
“Well, I’m not trans, so I can’t tell you what to do. But I’d be alert to ways that you can show him that you think of him as male all the time. Then, just ask honest questions about his body and what he likes. I’d probably check with him about sharing his trans status with your friends, though Quinn could be a good resource.”
“Thanks, Christy.” Everything she’d said was probably exactly what he would have told someone else, but it was helpful to have her confirm it. It felt different, too, when it was him and Saul. He didn’t want to screw this up. “Any other advice?”
“This probably goes without saying, but be yourself. I’ve seen you try to contort yourself to be what other Daddies want, and it’s always a shitty idea. He already knows you and he likes you.”
“What if I’m too much?”
“Let him set the boundaries on your behavior. You’ll feel better when you have rules, and you know which limits you can push and which ones you can’t. But let him do his job as a Daddy instead of doing it for him.”
“God, Christy. It’s like you know me or something.”
“Babe, you are a greedy little brat. And that’s clearly Saul’s thing, so live it up. I’m sure he’ll keep you in line.”
“Mmmmmm…” He hammed it up, dragging out the moan far past the point of decency. But the idea sent a very real shiver down his spine. That was what he needed.
“I hope you’re not touching yourself right now, because I really don’t want to hear it.”
“Christy, would I ever do such a thing?”
“If you were thinking about Saul you would.”
“Ha! Guilty. I totally would. But I’m not right now. Ohhhhh! I forgot to tell you the best part!”
“You’re in chastity?”
“God, I wish. I mean, I don’t wish. But, no, listen. The best part for you!”
“What?”
“Saul’s going to talk with HR about changing the policies about dating in the workplace. I gave him your whole spiel and he’s going to talk to Javier on Monday.”
“No way. Are you serious?”
“Yep. I’m getting you a flogger for Christmas. You’re welcome.”
