Adam glared at him in the mirror. “What?!?”

Tate smirked playfully. “You thought I was getting you ready for something else?”

“Yes! That’s why people wear plugs!”

“Really? I thought that bratty little boys wore plugs to please their Doms.”

“And to get ready for being fucked.”

“Oh? So, you’re telling me that you don’t want your cage off tonight?”

“No!” Adam’s mind started whirling. Tate couldn’t change the plan. He’d promised. Adam had been waiting for this all day, and if he just changed it… He felt like he couldn’t breathe.

“Hey baby, come back to me. I shouldn’t have teased you that way. The cage is definitely coming off tonight, just like I promised, and you will get to orgasm.

“If you’re worried about it, we can even take it off now and I can make you feel good before we go to the club. It’ll be a different evening and that’s fine with me.”

Adam realized that he’d been turned around into Tate’s strong arms. Tate’s voice was his only link back. “I’m really sorry, baby. I know that having expectations about dates and times is really important to you, and what I said wasn’t fun or funny at all.” He sounded remorseful. With the conversation, Adam was able to separate himself from the anxiety.

“I’m sorry I’m crazy,” he finally said.

“No baby, I’m sorry. It’s easy for me to forget about your anxiety when you’re so adventurous and casual when we play. You’ve been so strong and open that I think it takes me by surprise sometimes. But this is part of you, too. And a very important and meaningful part of taking care of you is learning your triggers and how to avoid them. I wish I could just learn faster, because I don’t ever want to cause you any stress or pain.”

Adam felt his anxiety slowly drift away. “Except the good kind of pain,” he smiled. He found his own anxiety exhausting sometimes, too. He just wanted the whole episode to be over.

“That’s right, honey. Would you be interested in trying that with me tonight?”

“Yes, Sir.” He only had two more nights with Tate, and he wanted to experience everything.

When they walked in the doors of Escape, Adam wasn’t really paying attention. He was wearing jeans and a heavy coat over his skimpy shirt and panties, and he was mostly thinking about when he could go change. It was unusual getting to the club this early in the evening.

Tate’s arm slipping around his waist anchored him to the doorway. He looked at Tate in confusion, and the Dom tilted his head to indicate looking around the room.

The whole space shown in sparkles of silver and white with hints of blue. Classy white garlands and crystal snowflakes hung from the wall. It was winter-themed and festive without being tacky and without a hint of red or green.

Tate led him up to the stage where a very determined Susie was helping her mommy hang up cardboard cut-outs of smiling dreidels and laughing menorahs on the tablecloth of a central table.

They were 100% tacky, and they weren’t exactly hanging straight, but that was part of their charm.

“Tate! It’s Hanukkah!”

“Yes, Little Star, it is.”

“Escape never has a Hanukkah party. They had their holiday-but-actually-just-Christmas party last week.” He needed to make Tate understand how big a deal this was.

“Yes, honey. That’s why I was up on that ladder decorating. But that was before I knew about a certain boy who needed a Hanukkah party.”

“Me?” No way. This was like… the whole room. He wheeled around. There was a caterers’ table along one wall, the empty steel frames and heating canisters just waiting for trays of food.

As they walked toward the stage, he kept gawking at the décor.

Instead of the poinsettias and red and gold beads he’d seen in past years, it seemed like their whole decorating scheme had gone from Christmas to winter. It must have cost a bunch of money to get a whole new set of materials together.

He just couldn’t get over it. “You really did this for me?”

“Of course, sweetheart. Though there are a surprising number of Jewish patrons at Escape, and some past members are coming in for it, too. The party’s open to anyone of any background, just like the Christmas party, but I thought this would be a nice tradition to start and the owners agreed.”
