I knew she needed it, especially with the cost of her mother’s care.

“Okay, men. Anything else?”

After a few headshakes and muttered nays, I said, “Church is done. I don’t know what the fuck’s going on with the ATF, but with the news from Banshee, we ride in twos from now on. Nobody goes out alone.”

“Got it, Pres.”

“Right, fuck off, the lot of you. Go get drunk, do whatever you want, but be careful.”

“Aye, Pres.”

I banged my hand on the nearest table, officially ending Church, and watched as the brothers filtered out to the bar and the pool table.

I dropped tiredly into a chair and swiped a hand over my face. Brotherhood sorted, I now had to contend with my biological brother.

Fucking hell!

“You okay, Glacier?” Lurch eyed me with concern.

“Yeah. I need to call Micah. Thank him.”

“Ah,” he said, understanding settling in.

Micah and I had a love-hate relationship, mostly because of our mother. She left me with my piece-of-shit father and ran off with Micah’s dad. As a kid, it cut deep, and I took it out on him.

As an adult, I knew it wasn’t his fault. My dad was a bastard. I found out later he’d threatened to kill my mother if she took me. Not that she went far. Just into town.

She married the foreman of a ranch on the other side of Bitterthorn and had Micah.

One thing I’d say about our mother—she might have been weak, but her genes were strong. There were four years between Micah and me, but growing up, it might as well have been a hundred. I was a dick to him, but he’d still shown up for me when he didn’t have to.

It was time to make it right.

“Fucking hell.” I pushed to my feet and dragged a hand over my face. “I’ll be back.”

Lurch started to rise, but I lifted a hand and shook my head. “You can’t come with me. I’ll take River. You know if you or Lawless come, it’ll only make things worse.”

Lurch rolled his eyes and dropped back into his seat.

“The little prick needs to get over himself,” Lawless snapped. “What happened, happened. We’re your brothers. Maybe not by blood, but we’re still your fucking brothers.”

He wasn’t wrong.

But I got it. Micah had no one growing up. Not until Jude and his boys rolled into town—and by then, I’d already made his life a living hell.

“It’s not that simple, Law. You know that.”

Lawless’s dark gaze locked with mine, and he nodded. “No, it’s not. I hate that he’s still angry. I understand it, but I hate it.”

“Preaching to the choir, brother.” I pulled him into a hug, slapping his back once. “I appreciate you. You and Lurch.”

“Yeah, yeah.” He shoved me off with a grunt. “Fuck off now. River!” he bellowed.

Our Enforcer looked over.

“Keep our Pres company.”

“Will do, VP.” River tipped his chin and followed me out the door.
