I shuddered. Nothing made any sense, but I’d come to accept that I would be mated. The thought was both shameful as well as stimulating. I’d remained on fire since the punishment, even though whatever lotion the Galerian women applied had lessened the pain to a mild irritation. But I knew I was in for another spanking.
At least I cared for Erik, Brexin as well, my body hungering for both. Could I learn to care for David?
“What… What happens now?” I finally asked. I was shocked at the sight of David. He’d changed in only a few days, virile and full of life. Whatever I imagined happening to the hybrids, I was obviously wrong. He was healthy. He was strong.
He was magnificent.
My mouth watered, the reaction involuntary, but I was aroused by the very thought of him. Of them.
Inhaling, even the scent of all three was more intoxicating that I could imagine. Fully aroused, I was able to gather the scent of my pussy, wet and aching. I walked closer to David, fearful of touching him, as if the man would break. No, he was far too rugged.
His hair was longer, the coloration kissed by the very gods of sunshine. His massive chest and rippled pecs almost bursting through the simple uniform. His arms and legs were sculpted from the finest stone, the proportions exquisite. The effects of the transformation were nothing like I expected. Then again, I’d never seen another.
He was gorgeous, roguish in the same kind of Viking manner as Erik, taking my breath away. I gazed from one to the other, my gaze settling on Erik. The full-blown electricity was undeniable. There could never be the same kind of connection as I had with him, but at least I believed they would all protect and care for me no matter the circumstances.
Or the danger.
“We taste our little mate. Then…” Brexin’s words trailed off, a twinkle in his eye. Walking closer, he allowed his hand to trail down from my cheek to my neck, instantly giving me shivers.
“Discipline before we mate,” David said, his voice alluring yet gravelly. “She must learn obedience.”
Erik twisted his head in the man’s direction. “You’ve spent time learning customs, my friend.”
“We are required to make certain she is well behaved.” David’s words seemed stilted, but his eyes raked over me, devouring me in the same fashion as I’d seen the others do. He inched closer, inhaling. “You are spectacular.”
“I was just disciplined. Isn’t that enough?” As usual, my tone was demanding.
Erik lifted a single eyebrow. “You were punished for escaping your room.”
“You mean my glorified cell.” I bit my cheek after I said the words.
“Why did you try to escape?” David asked as he studied my reaction, his pinched expression full of confusion.
“To look for you and the other hybrids.”
David gave a nod of understanding. “They are fine, Cassia. Why did you think otherwise?”
“How many are there? What can you tell me about them? Are they safe, not locked away like animals? Are they being cared for? Are they sick?” I peppered him with questions.
“Whoa, little human.” Brexin laughed. “Breathe.”
“I’m worried, Brexin. If you’d seen what David looked like before, you’d understand. He was sick. I don’t know every aspect of the transformation requirements, only a portion since the tests I performed were for strengthening human DNA only. This is… entirely different.” I knew my retort was being weighed carefully by Erik.
“Wait a minute. You’re also a scientist?” Brexin demanded.
“Trust me, very low level. I was not privy to this blasphemous decision. I would have refused. I need to see them, perform some tests. You must have some kind of medical equipment in this glorified camp.” I shivered as the three men looked at each other. Were they deciding some horrible fate?
“Of course we do, Cassia.” Brexin turned his attention to the others. “Her work from before could prove to be vital,” he said, his voice faltering but I noticed the clear acknowledgement from Erik. They were hiding some additional wretched aspect.
“I’m right here and happy to explain my work,” I countered.
“Not now. Later.” Erik’s gruff voice floated between all of us. The alpha had been chosen.
“I know, discipline then mating. I’m frightened. I’m not certain that matters,” I muttered, folding my arms over my chest.
“You have no reason to be, Cassia. We will do what’s necessary for all of us, including the hybrids. We are now as one,” Erik stated in an authoritative manner. “You belong to us.”
Primitive but powerful words.
