Lupine energy, alpha energy, cascaded through her and Luna moaned. Pain blended with scalding pleasure and an orgasm burst unexpectedly. She screamed, shaking helplessly as her entire body tingled and burned. Emotions soothed and calmed her as she floated back down.
“You’ve accepted our wolves,” Alex said then licked the muscle where her shoulder met her neck. “Now you will wear our marks.” He bit down hard, driving his teeth deep into her flesh.
Luna cried out, shocked yet undeniably aroused by the savagery.
Nate’s bite echoed Alex’s and Luna screamed again. Intensified by the dual penetration of their knots and teeth, energy flowed freely through all three. Luna soared beyond thought, beyond reality, and her mates flew right along with her. For several long, euphoric moments, they knew only each other and the utter perfection of their joining.
Reality returned gradually. The overwhelming pressure inside Luna faded to a pleasant ache and they eased their fangs out of her shoulder. Their warm tongues stroked over the marks left behind and Luna couldn’t help but smile. Claimed, marked, and mated, they belonged to her now.
Alex carefully separated his body from Luna’s and sat beside her on the bed. “There is no escaping us now, mate. You are well and truly caught.”
She laughed. “I’m happy to be your captive, alpha. But I was just thinking the same thing about you and Nate. You belong to me.”
Alex bent and kissed her, the exchange slow and filled with love. Then he slapped her tender bottom and growled out, “I need a shower. Get some sleep.”
Wrapping his arms around her, Nate rolled them to their sides. He pulled her leg onto his hip and kept his cock buried deep inside her. “I love you, mate. And I’ll love you forever.” He accented the vow with a lingering kiss. “I need to stay inside you for a little while longer.” Concern creased his brow and he added, “Unless I’m hurting you.”
She smiled contentedly and shook her head. “I love you right where you are,” she whispered and surrendered to sleep.
CHAPTER 9
Luna and Nate were sleeping so peacefully when Alex returned from the shower that he couldn’t bear to disturb them. He wasn’t ready to sleep, so he sent a telepathic ping to Caden, hoping that his cousin was still awake. Each time Alex visited Caden on the Azrithal, Drake had gone with him and the conversation awaiting him now would be better without an audience. Alex had yet to deal with Caden’s rebellion. They had all been focused on Caden’s recovery, but the situation required resolution.
What can I do for you, alpha? Caden responded, sounding wide awake and feisty.
I was just making sure you were still awake. I’d like to stop by.
I’m too bored to sleep. A surge of frustration propelled the thought and then Caden added, The fucking doctor won’t let me out of bed. I welcome the company.
I’m on my way, Alex told him and quietly left the cabin.
It took twenty minutes to jog over to the ship, but Alex wanted this resolved once and for all. The security team inside the ship must have noticed his approach because the main hatch opened. The Azrithal was sleek and dynamic, with three decks and a crew of forty-one. A guard stood at the top of the ramp, but all he did was nod as Alex walked by. All the crew members knew who Alex was, though few chose to interact with him.
Walking through the corridors of a spaceship while knowing that he couldn’t leave the planet was torture for Alex. But there was no help for it. Anyone who left the surface of Rydaria would be dead within minutes. The exploding tracker nanites weren’t an idle threat. Alex had seen their victims more than once during his captivity. Dr. Pojmon insisted that the trackers couldn’t be removed until they had been deactivated. And no one on the Azrithal had access to the deactivation codes.
Natalie walked along an adjacent corridor as Alex made his way toward the clinic. She paused and looked at him. “Are you just visiting Caden or did you need something?”
“It’s just a visit,” he assured her.
“Any progress with the other alphas? I’ve prolonged my stay on Rydaria about as long as I dare. Besides, I can’t go get more females until I return to Earth.”
Alex tensed. The last thing he needed right now was pressure from this female. “I expect a resolution tomorrow.”
“Good.” She flashed a friendly smile then said, “I’ll talk to you soon.” And she continued on her way.
Alex released a sigh and hurried his steps, wanting to return to his newly bonded mate.
Effervescent laughter reached Alex’s ears as he neared the main door to the clinic.
“You two can’t say things like that,” Evelyn cried. “It’s not decent.” Another peal of laughter belied her words. Clearly the human was enjoying their indecency.
Alex stepped into the clinic and glanced around. There were four treatment tables, but Caden was still the only patient. Evelyn stood on one side of Caden, Hayes on the other. Dr. Pojmon was nowhere in sight.
“The boss is here,” Caden pointed out with a grin. “We better behave.”
“Why don’t I walk you back to your cabin,” Hayes said to Evelyn.
She nodded and hurried around the bed. The beta escorted her from the clinic as Alex approached the bed.
