I looked down at my feet, noticing he wasn’t wrong. But I didn’t really feel them. Maybe I just had a higher pain tolerance.
Klaus came back with an ointment in his hands. “This should help with it.” He bent down to my feet and paused. He picked my feet up and looked at them once more. “Your blisters… they are healing.”
My eyebrows went up. “What? No, they aren’t.”
“They are. They aren’t red anymore.”
“That’s not possible.” I pulled my feet to look at them and found he’d been wrong. My feet were no longer red but slightly scabbed. I couldn’t believe it. My mouth dropped open.
Klaus pulled himself up. “Humans don’t heal that fast.”
Had they unlocked my magic? But I thought I would feel it more. Elize spoke about feeling it underneath your skin. But I didn’t feel anything.
He set the bottle down and sighed. “I think you guys are done practicing for today.”
I took in the worried expression on his face and wondered if maybe it wasn’t a terrible idea. Klaus and I have sex. If I had magic and it would help put it out, maybe I should consider it.
I chewed on my cheek, not wanting to argue with him. “Can I ask you something without you getting angry? Elize had mentioned something.”
He leaned back slightly, raising an eyebrow at me. “Which is?”
“She said that sex helped unlock her magic.”
His jaw clenched, and his lips pressed in a tight line.
I swallowed. “She mentioned it was what Janella did as well. They both did that, and their magic came out.”
He frowned and shook his head. “Out of the question.”
“You’re not even going to consider it.”
“No, no I’m not.” He pushed himself up, and I saw the shift in his face. He looked disgusted with the idea. “I’ll be having a chat with Elize. She shouldn’t put those ideas in your head.” I could hear him leave the door, the screen door slamming shut, and I was alone.
Chapter 9 - Klaus
I slid the pile of papers toward Cal. “You can get started on these. I’ve approved all of them. I know there will be some pushback, but hopefully not too much.”
Cal took the pages and raised an eyebrow at me. “You good? You seem a little grumpier than normal.”
I sighed. “I’m fine. I just didn’t sleep well.” Correction. I haven’t slept well since the new arrival moved into my house.
How was I supposed to sleep after Aubrey stated that we should have sex? And she said it so calmly, like that wouldn’t be a line in the sand we could ignore. She and I couldn’t even stand in the same room comfortably, and she was just offering sex up so easily.
It was really starting to make me wonder what the hell was in her past. No one would just offer that up without having a past. She kept telling me that she wasn’t a sex worker or a whore, but Jesus. How was I supposed to take that?
“Maybe you need to go home early and catch a nap.”
Or maybe you should go home and get some. If she’s willing, why not accept her offer? Might help put you in a better mood.
God damn it. Enough. I’m not crossing that line. I brought her here, and that was enough. It had to be. We could live our separate lives. There was no need to get to know her or try to be friends. It wasn’t like she was going to be here long.
“I’m fine. You can go.” I waved Cal off and allowed the silence to stretch as I sat alone. I tried to keep my head focused, but she filled every thought.
My mind thought of her walking around the house. I tracked every step, taking in her dainty little feet. She painted her toenails recently, a light pink. She had long legs, the type that looked good in heels, not that she wore those types of clothes. She always wore baggy clothes, but at night she had pajamas that hugged her tightly, so I knew she had an ass and a pair of breasts that were substantial.
She was a thin person, but part of that came from malnutrition. She had longer fingers and a thin face.
Imagine them wrapped around your cock. How soft they must feel, how rough she could handle it.
