Don’t mess with her family.

She got mean.

“You let her have a bar fight,” he said. “I don’t know how to process this?”

Michael laughed.

“LET? Oh, Finn…you don’t LET her do anything. She does bad all by herself. We just control the chaos,” he stated.

Elizabeth shrugged.

“It felt good. Who am I kidding? I like to make men cry. It’s fun.”

Ethan kissed her on the cheek and dropped his arm over her shoulders.

“That’s my girl,” he said.

Yes, yes, she was.

“Thanks for trusting me,” she said, nuzzling him.

How could he not?

Ethan Blackhawk knew the error of his ways, and now he remembered exactly why he fell in love with Elizabeth.

It was her bad-ass heart.

With their full glasses, he proposed another toast.

“To Elizabeth! May her right hook stay as strong as whiskey, and may the rest of us stay on her good side—or at least out of her reach!”

She laughed outrageously.

“Here! Here!” Michael, Finn, and Gabby said, as they all kicked back their drinks.

Graham just smiled at her.

And he knew that he’d gotten more than lucky marrying Michael.

He’d found a mom who would NEVER let him down.

Ever.

Chapter Eighteen

En Route To

The Castle

Evening

Eleven P.M.

Oh, it had been quite the night. After copious amounts of alcohol, really good pub faire, and some dancing, everyone was on the way back to the castle to tuck in for the night. They’d laughed entirely too much, danced until their feet hurt, and spent a good amount of the time being family.

And it was the best night any of them had in a long time.

Gabby wasn’t thinking about losing another pregnancy. Finn wasn’t worried about Gabby being heartbroken, and Ethan wasn’t thinking about losing his wife.
