They would go home at some point.
This was Michael’s battle. Good luck to him. Elizabeth always got her way when there was a dog involved.
ALWAYS.
This was likely going to end the same way.
“Not so funny now is it, when it’s your shoes, huh?” he asked. “Welcome to my world.”
Elizabeth pointed at the puppies.
“The two fat ones. They are the ones. I want me chonky puppers,” she said.
Gabby stared at her.
“Chonky?”
Elizabeth nodded.
“I said what I said. You’re smart. I’ve seen your personnel file. Want a dog? We can get you one. How about two?”
Graham gasped.
“Finn. Will. Kill. Me. He’s going to say that their house is too small, and then, again, kill me, Mom.”
She laughed.
“Well, I gave them a million dollars. That has to be enough to buy a house. If you need more…”
Gabby stopped her.
“Pause. No. We don’t need more, but yes on the puppy. I’ll take a girl one. I like making Finn feel outnumbered, like when his sisters come around.”
Well, it appeared her mind was made up, and Gabby’s too. It appeared it was going to be gotcha day.
“And you get a puppy, and you get two puppies, and you get heartburn,” he said, pointing from Gabby, to Elizabeth, and then to Ethan.
Graham took the phone and made note of them. They were theirs, and all he had to do was put in the puppy order. It appeared there were going to be puppies to love on, too.
“Then, those two are the ones,” he said, letting her pick because he saw how much joy it brought her. “We’ll make them family. They can have Gabby’s puppy come play with them.”
That sounded so amazing, and peaceful.
Yeah, Elizabeth loved it here.
“What kind are they?” she asked. “They look like little wolves.”
He shared.
“Irish Wolfhounds.”
Now, Ethan started choking.
“Jesus! Those are horses! Those aren’t small dogs! They make our dogs look petite!”
Graham grinned.
“I know. I love me a big dog,” he said. “They are good with kids, animals, and people.”
