“I don’t like the way that nigga looking at you. It’s on my conscious now. I already saw it. Something happen to you, now I gotta live with the fact of knowing that I saw the way he was looking at you, and I didn’t do anything about it,” I told her.
“Which is why I keep this with me at all times,” she said, taking her purse off her shoulder, showing me the Glock that was resting in there.
“I’m not cancelling my ride all because you don’t like the way he’s looking at me. Niggas look at me like that all the time. He’s already here, which means that I’m going to have to pay a cancellation fee. I’m not doing that,” when she said that last part, I looked at her like she was crazy this time.
“Man, you ain’t pressed about a fuckin cancellation fee. I threw twenty bands your way the other night. I know damn well that you didn’t blow through that shit already. How much that lil’ cancellation fee gonna run you? Twenty dollars? You mean to tell me it’s worth gambling with your life, getting in the car with a nigga giving off weird ass, predator vibes, over what? A twenty-dollar cancellation fee? Man, cancel that motha fuckin uber!” I shot.
She stood her ass there, not saying anything. That’s when I nodded and walked towards the Tesla.
“Ay, main man, don’t worry about it. Change of plans. She don’t need the ride no more,” I let him know, tapping the car, getting his attention.
The nigga was looking back at me like he wanted to kill my ass. He mumbled a bunch of shit under his breath, and then he pulled off. As he was pulling off, my car was pulling up.
“It’s rush hour traffic. The next Uber is twenty minutes out. I just told you that I’ve been at this shop for over twenty minutes,” she was annoyed as hell, walking over to the bench, and taking a seat.
Her leg bounced up and down as she sat there. I looked from her to my whip. My whip to her, doing it a couple of times before finding a solution.
“How far you live from here?” I asked the million-dollar question.
“It’s fine. I’m calling another Uber,” she said.
“Just hop in the car with me. I’ll take you to your crib,” I said, and when I said that to her, she cut her eyes at me and rolled them.
“Nigga, what’s the difference between me getting in the car with you, compared to getting in the car with the nigga that just left? You said you didn’t like the way that he was looking at me. You were looking at me the same way in the club!” she spat, and this time, I cut my eyes at her, offended that she said that shit.
We were standing at this luxury dealership, turning this shit upside down. The technician that drove my car over was getting a kick out of this. He could have walked away a long time ago. Instead, he stood his ass out here, standing by my car, watching the entire thing go down.
“Don’t compare the way that nigga was looking at you to the way I was looking. I got predator vibes from him. I was looking at you like I was infatuated with your ass. There’s a difference. You had all that ass in my lap. Where the fuck was I supposed to look? Up at the ceiling? Nah. My eyes were right where they were supposed to be. I’m a man at the end of the day. I had you half naked, dancing on me. Of course, I was looking at you. I was willing to look at everything that you put in my face,” I said to her.
“Which is the point that I’m making to you right now. What’s the difference between you and the Uber driver?” she asked.
“You was too busy on your phone, man. You ain’t feel how he was looking at you. You saw the way I was looking, and you can’t say that I made you feel uncomfortable. That’s the difference. You getting in or you going to wait twenty minutes for another Uber to come? I had a long day just like you did. I’m ready to take my ass home too,” I said to her.
She looked around her surroundings. From where I was standing, I could see the wheels in her head spinning. On one hand, you could tell that she wanted to get in the car with me. On the other hand, you could tell she wanted to continue being stubborn, call another uber, and wait for it to come.
I could have chosen to walk away. I could have felt like she was taking too long to make up her mind and left her ass sitting there. I didn’t though. I stood here, waiting to see what she was going to do.
She found her common sense eventually, stood up, and made her way over to me.
I led the way over to my car, going for the passenger seat, opening the door for her. She stepped in, and I closed the door behind her.
I thanked the technician for bringing my car over and then hopped inside. The second I sat down, I had a moment to reflect and think about what the fuck I was doing. I didn’t even move like this. I’m so tied up with making money, and running a business, that I can’t tell you the last time I entertained a woman. I had this girl cancel her Uber, and damn near threatened her to get in the car with me.
Fuck did I have going on? Maybe that Poison shit wasn’t just her stripper name. I think that dance might have gotten into my bloodstream, leaving me with side effects. I don’t know. Something was going on.
CHAPTER 6
DEJA MCCOY
Iwas so aggravated this evening. I had such a good time in Atlanta this past weekend. Made a lot of money from the music video that I did with Kilo, so it was only right that I used my last day in Atlanta as a shopping day. Lyric and I went crazy at the mall. I picked up a couple of designer bags, bought more heels that I didn’t need because my heel collection was already nasty enough, and growing by the day. I purchased some clothes too.
After all the fun that I had in Atlanta, it felt like I was met by straight bullshit the second I landed in Miami this morning. First off, when I got to my apartment, there were notices on all our doors, stating that the water was off. In the notice, they told us that a pipe burst, which caused the whole building’s water to shut off, and they weren’t sure when it would be back on.
That annoyed the hell out of me because I was one of those people that liked to get home after being on a plane and take a shower immediately. I wanted to get all those germs off me. That inconvenienced the hell out of me, so after settling inside the house, unpacking my bags, and things like that, I packed up a small bag, and drove to my godsister’s, Eden’s place. That’s where I showered, changed clothes, and slept on her couch for hours.
The second I woke up, I had a text message from Ranger Rover, letting me know that my car was ready for pick up. Range Rover has had my car for almost a month! I pushed a Borasco Grey Range Rover Sport Autobiography. That car was so fuckin sexy. It hasn’t even been a year since I’ve had it, yet it’s giving me so many problems.
This time, it’s been in the shop for so long because it was having electrical issues. I can’t even explain to you the things that my service provider had been telling me these past few weeks because each time he texted me with a new problem that they found, it was almost as if he was speaking gibberish to me. I was so happy to get back to the service department, so that I could return the loaner, and hop back into my car. Only to get there and find out that there was one more issue that they found on the car, and they told me to just wait around because they could get it handled.
