I’ve even come to terms with the fact that I am absolutely falling in love with him and I plan to tell him tomorrow night. I’m nervous as all hell, and I don’t even know if he feels the same way but I can’t hold it in any longer.

He fits so naturally into my life and I can’t go on without him knowing.

It’s even perfect that I’m telling him the news tomorrow because his sister has an appointment and we’ll better know if she’s going to go into labor on time or if it may be a little after her due date. Of course childbirth isn’t a perfect science, and the baby will come when it’s ready, unless they actually schedule a C- section. It’s a guestimate, but we’ll have something to work with. I’m trying to make it there, but I still need to talk to my captain about time off, or possibly switching schedules with someone.

Victor will be leaving in two days and I’m already missing him. I’m going to go crazy without him here. Maybe I can take up a hobby to keep my brain distracted. Maybe needlepoint. Or I could write a smut book and fill it with all the naughty, filthy things I want to do to him.

A part of me hates that he’s leaving, but I get why. If I had a sister and she was having a baby, I’d want to be there. If it was Lena, heaven and earth couldn’t keep me away.

There’s a small part of me that’s afraid Victor will want to stay there. That he’ll want to be a full-time uncle versus part time. It’s not like he couldn’t. He runs his own business and can work from anywhere. It’s what he does now. But another part knows that if he did make the decision to move, he’d tell me.

Get it together, Jakie boy. Victor is definitely coming back. It’s just the thought of being separated from him after just getting together that has you worried.

Once my shifts are covered, I can go join him. I won’t be there the entire time he is, but I can at least meet his sister. Nellie sounds amazing and I kind of already love her.

I'm so caught up in my thoughts that I barely notice Stellan walking toward me until he steps directly into my path. His brows are raised as he gazes at me, his lips pursed like he’s thinking about something.

"What?" I ask, narrowing my eyes at him.

"Nothing, but maybe something,” he says, confusing the hell out of me.

"Dude, that makes no fucking sense. What are you still doing here anyway?”

"Oh, I just wanted to talk to you for a minute. You’re smiling. A lot over the last couple weeks. What happened?"

“Can’t a man just smile? Does something have to happen?"

He raises an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest, tilting his head to the side as he glares at me, waiting for an answer. One that I don’t give. Instead, I just stare right back at him, a smile on my face.

“We can do this all night long. I have nowhere to be. What or who has that cheesy ass smile on your face?”

“Fine, the guy from the café. Well we’ve been seeing each other and talking a lot; we’ve made it official. We’re dating."

"It's about damn time," he says, and I can't help laughing. "I'm glad you've found someone."

"Thanks."

"But that's not all. I’ve noticed something else. You’re not bitching and moaning about your admirer anymore. Did they finally get the picture and stop?”

“Honestly, I don’t have a clue.”

His brows furrow. “Huh? How do you not know?”

"I told Potts to start intercepting whatever's being sent and keep it for himself. Told him I didn’t want to know anything about what’s being sent.”

"So you seriously don't know if the person is still sending shit?"

"Nope."

"And you don't care?"

"Nope."

He shakes his head. "About fucking time. You let that shit stress you out way too much."

I know he's right. For months I let those gifts control my life. Even let it determine where I had coffee. Not that I’m complaining about that too much because I wouldn’t have met Victor. I don't want to give whoever it is another second of my attention.

"Today is your last shift of the week, right?" he asks.
