Jake: And I don’t want to wait to see you until after then.
I bite my lip. He wants to see me. Not just text me. Not just flirt through a screen. He wants me sitting across from him again. Or maybe beside him, his hand resting on the back of my chair as his fingertips graze my shoulder.
Me: What if I say yes?
Jake: Then I'll be at the café tomorrow at seven.
I frown.
Me: Seven in the morning?
A laughing emoji appears.
Jake: No seven tonight. LOL
I laugh.
Me: I knew that.
Jake: Sure you did.
I shake my head.
Me: You're getting cocky.
Jake: Something tells me you like it.
My fingers freeze. Because I do. I absolutely do.
Me: Maybe.
His answer comes back.
Jake: I'll see you tomorrow, maybe.
I grin.
Me: Maybe.
Jake: I’ll be sitting in the same spot.
Me: Then I guess we have a coffee date.
His response comes immediately.
Jake: We do.
Me: Well, I need to get back to work.
Jake: Ok. If you get bored you can always message me. Or call.
Me: Noted.
I drop my phone in my lap, letting my head fall back on the couch as I stare up at the ceiling and smile.
I have a coffee date with the hottest man I’ve ever seen. And I’m going back to the café where I met him. Only this time, I'm not going there for coffee. I'm going there for him.
