“Sounds good.” She hesitated, not opening her door and looked up at me. I could feel the energy between us and took a step closer. Her lips turned up and she met me halfway.

The moment our lips touched my body relaxed and my hands found her waist, pulling her closer.

She giggled for a second before deepening the kiss. Her hand went to the back of my neck then she pushed her fingers through my hair and sighed against me.

She pulled back, blushing. “I’ll see you soon.”

I was frozen while she turned around and disappeared into her apartment. That woman surprised me more and more each day. She drove me crazy in the best possible way. I shook my head, smiling as I headed back to my place to change.

Elena opened the door looking absolutely breathtaking in a tight red dress. It was long sleeved with a high neck, and went past her knees but it was still the sexiest thing I’d ever seen her in. Her hair was curled and hung over one shoulder. She looked up at me and I melted.

“Ready?” Her voice was normal, as if she walked out of her house every day looking like that.

“Elena...you look…” I cleared my throat. “You look beautiful.”

She beamed and batted her lashes. “Thank you, Nikolay. You look very handsome. Who knew you cleaned up so nice?”

I rubbed my neck, watching her as she looked up. I was wearing a black button up with black slacks. Sure, I’d taken the time to shave, but I looked like a heathen next to her.

She glanced at me, confused. “Are we waiting for something?”

I shook my head. “No, let’s go.”

She nodded and grabbed her gift bag before shutting the door. I followed her to the elevator, and we stepped out to the underground parking and I led her to my SUV in the corner. I opened her door and she slid into the passenger seat. She looked around and whistled.

“This is pretty fancy for someone that rarely drives.”

I shook my head and smiled. “It was a signing gift from my agent.”

Her eyes widened. “Wow.”

I closed the door before she could say anything else. I was uncomfortable with the luxury vehicle as it was. I didn’t ask for it, but my agent assured me every player would be driving something similar. He wasn’t wrong, but like she pointed out, I rarely drove so I had a ninety-thousand-dollar car that sat in the garage most of the time. It was a bit ridiculous, but he wouldn’t let me give it back.

I drove across town to Chloe and Reese’s new house. It was in the same neighborhood as Olli and Emma’s. Chloe wanted a house rather than living in an apartment now that they were expecting, and I think she wanted more space away from Erik now that they both had their own families.

I smirked, remembering Erik mentioned Madi wanted to move into a house too. Knowing him, they’d be moving next door to Chloe just to drive his sister crazy.

The Murray’s home was just as grand as the Letang’s with a large driveway with enough room for half the team to park. There was a large porch that led up to the French country home. The white stone seemed to glow with the lights aimed up at it.

“Wow. I haven’t seen it since they finished the updates.” Elena said as she got out. I moved around the car and took her hand.

“It looks good,” I agreed as I led her to the front door.

She nodded. “I mean, I wouldn't say no to a house like this.”

I laughed and opened the door letting her enter before following behind. We hung up our coats then stepped into the open living room area. Chloe was standing near the kitchen island and smiled when she saw us.

“Well, if it isn’t the newest Fury couple.” She winked like she was teasing but I looked down to Elena and smiled.

The room seemed to freeze. “Wait, are you guys really together?” Grant called out.

Elena matched my smile and nodded before looking out to the room. “We are.”

We never discussed our relationship status, but I was glad we were able to avoid it. Things with her had been easy so far, I shouldn’t have been surprised this would be too.

“Since when?” Addi asked with Eli balanced on her hip.
