“You’re the love of my life, so it’s not hard to remember.”

She rolled her eyes and kept walking. “You’re digging yourself a grave.”

I laughed, realizing I hadn’t felt this good in a long time. I didn't want it to stop.

“Hey guys!” Emma and Olli were on the path coming toward us.

“Hey, are you heading for some food?” Lucy asked.

Emma rubbed her stomach. “Yeah, I’m starving.”

Olli laughed. “Yeah, she hasn’t had anything for two whole hours.”

Emma smacked him. “Next time, you have the baby.”

He held his hands up and took a step back. “I love and admire you. You are a goddess and I’m not worthy.”

“And?” She eyed him.

“And you get more and more beautiful each day.”

She nodded once then turned back to us. “Someday he’ll remember the full thing.”

Lucy giggled. “Come on. We’ve got to feed that baby.”

Emma grabbed Lucy's arm and tugged her forward. “Finally, someone understands.”

I watched Lucy for a reaction. I didn't know how she felt about being around pregnant women. Did it make her sad? Did she think about it? When she laughed, I finally relaxed. I’d have to talk to her about it later.

“So? Things went well?” Olli asked.

I shrugged. “My big plan was a failure, but we talked through everything and yeah…we’re good.”

Olli patted my back and we followed the girls in. “I’m happy for you man.”

“Thanks.”

“But who’s going to be the grumpy bachelor now?”

“Grant?”

Olli laughed. “He’s too much of a lady’s man to settle down with one.”

“Erik was way worse, and he proved us wrong.”

“You’re right. Nothing’s impossible with these guys.”

We walked in and found the girls already seated with the rest of the group. It never ceased to amaze me how we ended up in the same places at the same times without communicating. Maybe it was from being around each other so much, or maybe Chloe had somehow brainwashed everyone. That wouldn’t surprise me.

As I neared and pulled out the chair next to Lucy, they all began clapping. I shook my head and sat down. I checked to see how Lucy would handle the attention, but she just glowed.

“I guess you all know already?” Lucy asked.

Colby nodded. “We knew if you two arrived together then things were fine. If he came alone, we’d have to go up to the room to check on you.”

“You’re very kind, but thankfully we talked and decided that despite it all, we belong together.” She looked at me and smiled, making me feel like king of the world.

Hartman held his glass up and we said cheers. “Congratulations you guys. We’re all very happy for you.”
