Kendall nodded. “So, it’s just us.”

Colby swung one leg over the bench, straddling it. “So, did you talk to Colin? Are you staying?”

“You guys knew about that?” I guess my shock was a waste. There didn't seem to be many secrets in their group.

“Of course. So, what’d you say?”

I looked at Kendall, and then at Colby and blew out a breath. “I’m not sure. I don’t think it’s a good idea.”

Kendall waited a beat then broke the silence. “You know. I was, well I still am, a fan of the Baltimore Harbor.”

I nodded. “You’d mentioned that.”

Kendall beamed with pride. “Wyatt and I did not get along. There was definitely no love at first sight with us. It took time and a lot of mistakes on my part for us to end up trusting each other. We never should have ended up together, but sometimes the universe has other plans. Sometimes we don’t know best. Things don’t have to make perfect sense.”

“And when all else failed, have him donate a kidney to you.” Colby laughed while I stared at them.

“Wait, what?”

Kendall pulled up her tank top and pointed to two scars on her stomach. “I needed a kidney transplant, and Wyatt donated. He didn’t end up being a perfect match, so we did an exchange thing, so three people ended up getting kidneys that day.”

I couldn’t believe it. “You guys went from pranking to literally saving your life?”

She smiled. “Yeah.”

“So, don’t think anything is impossible.” Colby wagged her brows.

“And just so you know,” Kendall said, smiling, “we all want you to stay too. We’ve rearranged things, so you could room with us.”

Could I turn them down? After how accepting they’d been of me?

“Okay.”

Colby jumped up. “Really?”

I sucked in a breath. “Yeah.”

They both threw their arms around me, squeezing in a bear hug. When we finally stepped back, Kendall was smiling. “I promise we’ll do everything we can to make sure you don’t regret this.”

“Thanks.” I knew they would. They’d already proven that they could be trusted. All I had to do now was break the news to Amber and Elena. They would understand, and I would see them again in a few weeks at the wedding.

When word got to me that Kendall and Colby got Lucy to agree to stay, I was stunned. I couldn't believe they got her to change her mind. I needed to learn to not underestimate those women.

Lucy was going to spend the rest of the day with Amber and her friends, but tomorrow she would be all mine. I had a day and a half to convince her to give us a chance. I could not screw this up. I sat on one of the dozens of white loungers and stared out at the waves crashing against the sand.

“What’s the plan?” a voice called out.

I looked up from the sand I’d been staring at to Erik and Wyatt watching me.

“I’m not sure yet.”

“No more excursions.” Wyatt insisted.

“Why not?”
