I blinked, not sure I heard him correctly. I was rendered speechless. Moving in together was a big step, one that I hadn’t anticipated taking so soon.
“You’re serious?” I asked.
“Very.” He nodded. “I need you here.”
“What about Paisley?”
“You know she loves you,” he said. “She would love to have you in the house.”
“Yes,” I replied, a smile spreading across my face. “I’d love to do that.”
Timothy’s eyes lit up with joy at my response, his smile widening. “That’s awesome,” he said, his voice filled with happiness. “Maybe we can set your dad up in your house so he doesn’t have to live in his shop anymore. I would hate to see all that hard work you’ve been putting into the house be enjoyed by someone else.”
“That’s a good idea,” I replied, a sense of relief washing over me.
“Maybe I should be the one to tell him what’s happening,” Timothy said. “I know he’s not fond of me. I’d like to smooth things over with him.”
“Okay,” I nodded. “But tread lightly.”
“I’ll talk to him,” he said confidently. “I want to convince him I’m serious about you. I know he thinks I’m not serious about you, but I am. I need to talk to him man to man.”
“I appreciate that.” I smiled. “He will, too.”
