But if my little demon wants it, if she asks me to, there’s no way I won’t comply.
What Maddy wants, Maddy gets.
And what she wants is for me to chase her through the halls, just like last night. Except this time, the place is full of people making their way around this maze of black fabric, being scared off by other teachers wearing the same mask and gown outfit as me.
This is how we blend in.
I’m glad this charity event didn’t start until late in the evening. We stayed up all night cleaning up the mess we made. Thank God, I became a bit of a handyman back when I lived on the streets, so I could fix almost everything that I broke. And what I couldn’t, Maddy made up for. Together, we made it work. Including the deep cleaning to erase every drop of blood we spilled.
My sweet, sweet girl helped me, and we came up with the perfect plan to cover up Joseph’s and Lucien’s deaths.
No one will tie it to us.
Having Maddy with me gives me the confidence I can make it through. It doesn’t matter if Devon shows up again, or if things get tough. With her—I can do anything.
I don’t give a damn what others think about us. Together, we’re fucking invincible.
“Come out, come out, Little Demon,” I call out, stepping through the maze.
Unlike yesterday, the halls are now illuminated by neon lights that match the teachers’ masks. A nice finishing touch from Hannah, who brought the decorations with her last minute.
A group of teens with their grown-ass dads walks past me. Their mothers stacked behind, covering themselves with the men, human shields in all their glory. Everyone’s so focused on making everything look perfect, and the response has been so strong that after scaring kids for the first hour, they don’t notice when Maddy and I slip away.
My little demon, too, is wearing a mask of her own. And I gotta admit, I see the appeal of it when she’s wearing it. Hers is a ski mask with bloody streaks and combined with her black babydoll dress and her pigtails, she’s the hottest serial killer I’ve seen in my life.
The fact that her mask doesn’t have neon lights is to her advantage, too, making it so much easier for her to sneak around, while I’m announcing my presence everywhere I go with mine.
I slip past another group of students and parents, murmuring to myself, “Where are you, Little Demon?”
My heart races with every second, anticipating the glorious reward.
I smirk when I catch movement at the end of the hall.
Short, thin legs hidden beneath the fabric, giving me déjà vu.
I lift the fabric, ready to whisper, ‘Found you!’
“Boo!” I’m startled as a girl shouts in my face, almost making me stumble back and fall on my ass.
“Oh.” A short blonde-haired girl who’s also wearing a black dress, bites at her lip. Her face is flushed.
“Mr. A’gosto! I’m sorry.” She lowers her gaze, not wanting to meet mine. I recognize her as one of the freshmen in one of my classes. “I was trying to scare my friends. They’re somewhere around here, sorry.”
She darts off before I can react.
I run a hand through my hair and lift my mask to take a breath.
A cackle resounds nearby and I spin to face the owner of said melody.
Leaning against a wall in front of me, right next to another classroom, with legs crossed, and her phone caught between her hands, is my little demon.
“That didn’t scare me.” I shake my hands in front of me.
“Sure, it didn’t.” My girl speaks through her mask. She looks so fierce and lethal wearing it, despite her small stature and petite physique. “Don’t recognize my legs, big brother?” She stretches out one of her beautiful, toned legs, modeling for me.
My cock twitches.
I should, by now, with the uncountable number of times I’ve ogled her since the first time we met.
