Forever After
Calista
“You know this could’ve waited until next week,” Georgia says, sitting beside me at my vanity table.
I shove aside my scattered makeup and glance at her in my periphery. “No, I just wanted to get it done now. No need to have to make another trip here.”
Georgia softly touches the top of my hand, stopping me from jetting my signature across the paperwork. “It’s over, Cali. You’ve been granted full permission from the United Alphas to be the Kismet Omega and proceed with your sterilization. That’s not going to change how long you wait to sign these.”
I exhale a sharp breath. “I just—I need it done. Now.”
She nods and motions to the documents. “Noted. Sign those two highlighted spots, and we’re finished.”
Gliding the pen over the paper, I smile as I draw my signature. My heart flutters, my whole body tingling with a new lightness I’ve never experienced before. It has always felt like the weight of the world crushed my shoulders, always trying to push me down, but now? I’m free. I’m officially Pack Kismet’s omega and have been granted independence to make my own decisions, which is the first time ever for an omega.
“Great, that’s it. Now all you have to do is go out there and say your vows. We can go over the restitution from Pack Daines some other time.” Georgia slides the stack of papers into her purse and stands up. She proffers her hand and helps me to my feet. “I’m sure Misters Kismet are all anxiously awaiting outside the door.”
She’s right. I can smell the collection of their delectable scents from here.
I laugh and nod, taking a moment to peer into the mirror one more time. The flowing baby blue dress I picked from Mom’s closet fits perfectly. This is my way of having her with me in a moment neither of us could’ve predicted would come. If only she could see me. See how happy I am.
“Gorgeous,” Georgia chimes, giving me a long look. “Simply gorgeous.”
I smile and let her lead me to my suite door, where Nolan opens it before we even make it within a foot.
“Congratulations, Pack Kismet. I heard the news from my friend serving as a United Alpha Rep. It was well deserved.” Georgia slides past my three alphas and into the hallway.
“Thank you. We hope to make a positive change,” Nolan says, letting Georgia past him.
“You will. I’m sure of it.” Georgia offers another smile. “Now see you all in a bit. Enjoy this quiet moment while you can.”
Lucas and Jensen wait until Georgia disappears down the staircase to join Nolan in circling me, using their bodies to cage me in. I relax my shoulders at their closeness and savor their scents and palpable emotions crashing around me.
Silence hangs between us, the moment helping us collect ourselves. This isn’t only our bonding ceremony. It’s also our announcement that the United Alphas have granted the expansion of Pack Kismet into an Omega Resort far bigger than the one I came from in Nevada. We will now be a safe haven for all omegas who want independence to figure out what they want in life—whether it’s freedom from their packs to find their own love to omegas who want a different life completely.
And the best part?
We’ve chosen to accept omegas without a huge fee. Our sanctuary will not be run for profit. It’ll truly be a safe place for all.
I almost don’t believe it.
Pushing the negative thought away, I finally get myself together and lift my head to meet Nolan’s eyes first. I turn to Jensen next and then Lucas, giving each of them a moment to savor my attention.
“I’m ready if you are,” I say.
Lucas slides his arms around me, pulling me from between them. “I’ve been ready.”
“Me fucking too,” Nolan adds, sandwiching me to his brother.
Jensen breaks between them to kiss my cheek. “Hell yeah. Let’s go.”
Picking me up, Jensen carries me like the blushing omega I am, not letting my feet touch the floor until we come to the glass door with a view of the floral-decorated terrace with a view of Poppy Cove below. The salty air engulfs me in a fresh wave, blowing my curled tresses like a whispered kiss. If my alphas didn’t ground me, I would float away on the joy lifting my spirit.
