Pack Bonds
Calista
Sweat beads across my brow. Stress has always been a trigger for my heats, and I should’ve known this would happen.
“You’re going to be fine. Just breathe. It’s only a day or two,” I whisper to myself, rushing to arrange the nest I created so many years ago. I need more blankets. More pillows.
I need a damn heat toy to help ease the ache throbbing within me.
“Cali, are you in here?”
I snap my head up at the sound of Lucas’s voice.
“Nolan’s asking for you again. He wanted me to check on you since you told him you were just grabbing something real quick. The asshole’s impatient.” Lucas peeks his head into the doorway, his gaze sweeping the small walk-in like he senses danger and needs to find the threat.
“Make an excuse. I can’t see him. Keep Jensen away too.” I turn my back and continue moving and shifting things around.
A shirt lands at my feet, and I freeze, Lucas’s scent arousing something feral inside me. That’s what I’m missing. His scent. All of my alphas’ scents. Scooping it up, I bring the fabric to my nose and inhale.
“Why didn’t you say something, Lis? When did it start?” Lucas comes closer, and I throw my hands up, keeping him back.
“I don’t know. I woke up feeling bad. It’s the stress of everything. I’ve never really had to worry about this shit before, okay? The Omega Resort would track and be prepared.” I cover my face with my hands and breathe. “Just leave me alone, please. Keep your brothers away. I’m not fucking getting pregnant!” I don’t mean to scream, but his closeness doesn’t help. I can imagine his hands touching every inch of me.
Lucas snatches me from my spot and pulls me against him. “I’m sterile, remember? I don’t even have to fuck you to help. Just let me take care of you.”
His words crack my fiery resolve as my mind catches up and sees reason. He’s right about everything. My panic got the best of me, and I went in defense mode. My body is forcing me to crave something I don’t want, and I hate it. I refuse to give in to it. I’d rather suffer temporarily than give in to my unbidden nature as an omega.
“Come on. This looks like a comfortable spot.” Lucas lifts me into his arms and lowers us onto the mound of blankets. The warmth of his bare chest radiates through my shirt and I lift my arms, silently begging him to take it off me.
I sink into him, savoring the warmth of his skin against mine. His delectable scent wafts around me, the refreshing mint cooling the fire threatening to burn me to ash. He only holds me, snuggling his face into my hair. There’s something about the peaceful quiet between us that steadies my racing heart. I’m not alone. I’ll never be alone again.
My alphas respect me and cherish me.
They’ll always quench and satisfy my needs.
“Isn’t this better?” Lucas whispers, rubbing his palms across my clavicle, slowly working his way down inch by inch.
The gesture arouses an intense desire in me, stirring my wild nature as an omega even more. I’ve never had an alpha care for me while I was in heat, and I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much. Now that my mind isn’t fighting my body, I can breathe. I can just give in for once without worry or care.
I moan in agreement, shifting under his steady touch. It’s no longer light and teasing but full of intentional purpose—the purpose to ease the ache radiating from between my legs. With the purpose of tending to the pain my body forces me to endure if I have no intention of breeding.
“More,” I demand. The neediness of my voice is sharp and almost dominating. My independent thinking battles with what should be a soft omega in nature. But I’m not soft. I’m weathered and tough from one battle after another in a world that expects me to submit. Not anymore.
Lucas plants his lips to my bare shoulder and sucks hard enough to shift my mind away from the burning ache throbbing harder and harder the closer his hands travel down my stomach. I ease up my hips, allowing him to undress me completely. He stretches my legs apart and groans, using his chin to turn my head away from where his hands travel and to the mirrored wall giving a full display of my naked body, glistening with desire.
I tense at the movement from the reflection of my bedroom. It’s Jensen and Nolan. Of course they’d find themselves lured here by the intensity of my heat growing. I bet they can smell me from anywhere in the estate as my scent matches, and now they stand distant in yearning, knowing better than to get closer. They respect me enough to resist my body calling theirs. Any other alpha would do whatever they could to convince their omega to give in and allow them to breed, something omegas struggle to resist. Our bodies are our enemies in times of fertility. It’s the animalistic nature trying to force a new existence.
But I’m stronger than that.
“Don’t come any closer if you’re even thinking about fucking her,” Lucas says, his voice deep with his threat. He’s confessed to his brothers about his sterilization, so they already knew what would happen if I went into heat. “I don’t feel like fighting and hurting you when Cali needs all my attention.”
“I trust them,” I gasp, pressing my back harder to Lucas. “You’re my alphas. You would never betray me.”
“I’m not exactly in good shape either.” Nolan hobbles into my closet, bracing himself on Jensen. “I just need to be here. She’s our omega and the only thing stopping me from trying to destroy the world for her.”
The two of them drink me in with such appreciation that their love and desire hang palpably in the air. I can taste it on my tongue with my ragged breath, my body squirming as Lucas thrums my clit with two of his fingers.
