Looks at me.
Looks at Less’ back where he’s standing facing away from us a few feet from the doorway.
Looks back at me.
“You're glowing.”
I nearly choke on my tea.
“I am not.”
“You absolutely are.”
She points dramatically.
“Look at your face!”
I can’t see his face, but I know Less is smirking from the way he’s shoulders are set.
Smug jackass.
God, I love him.
“She's cute when she's embarrassed,” he calls out without turning around.
“Alessio!”
“Am I wrong?”
“Yes!”
“Liar.”
Brielle starts laughing.
“Seriously, you two are so cute it’s disgusting.”
“Thank you,” Less says proudly.
“Not a compliment!”
“Sounds like one,” he replies.
I burst out laughing.
And suddenly—all my nerves disappear.
Just like that.
Because he's here.
Because we’re here—together.
And because despite everything—life keeps moving.
“Amanda?”
I turn.
