Me
I love mysteries, so usually those. Romantic suspense too.
I feel myself blush and wiggle beneath the blankets. The ache between my legs is back, and the last thing I need is to talk about romance with the very man who seems to ignite those dirty thoughts I’ve suddenly been plagued with. Before he can reply, I fire off the same question to him.
Me
What about you?
Camden
Do I like to read? The answer is still no. I used to have a gorgeous young woman help me with my homework back in the day because I hated reading. But if I’m not in my garage working on something, I love to camp, four-wheel, and fish. I wish I could do it every weekend.
Camden
You been recently?
Me
No.
Not since I left town after graduation…
Camden
Maybe we’ll go sometime. I bet Theo would love it.
I want to ask which part, but honestly, the answer is he’ll love all of it. It seems he can’t get enough of Camden, so if he suggests it, I’m sure Theo will be all in.
Me
That would be nice.
Hope bubbles in my chest once more.
Camden
I’ll let you go. I’m sure you’re ready for bed. Or to get back to your book.
I contemplate whether I want to send the reply I quickly type out and decide to just go for it. It’s the way I feel, so I might as well say it.
Me
I kinda like talking to you. Again.
His reply doesn’t come right away, and I start to worry I took a step too far, so when my phone chimes with the notification, I let out of sigh of relief.
Camden
Same, Shortcake.
Camden
Have a good night.
Me
You too.
