He leaves a trail of kisses back up my neck until our lips collide again, and before I know it, he’s pulled me down and flipped us so my back replaces the space where his previously lay atop the sheets. He starts to journey lower, and I’m taken back to yesterday where I came so close to experiencing again what his mouth would feel like against the part of me that has yearned for him the most.

Yesterday that chance was ripped away. But now we’re all alone. No threats. No distractions.

It’s like Rory’s reading my thoughts as he settles himself between my legs, arms wrapped around my raised thighs.

‘I guess I’m about to find out if I measure up to your memory.’

I melt against his tight hold as his lips brush my skin with such a featherlight touch it sets my body on fire with desire. I reach my hands down to tangle in his hair, guiding his head to the exact place I want him. The place I need him. I’m rewarded with nothing more than his breath as he chuckles.

‘Why so hasty, baby? We have all night.’

What passes over the next five minutes can be classed as nothing less than torture, so by the time his mouth finally closes over me I know I won’t last long. And when his fingers slide inside me with unsurprising ease, I come undone.

‘Don’t stop,’ I moan, one hand gripping the pillow behind me as the other stays locked on his head, keeping him exactly where I want him.

‘That’s it,’ he says as I grind my hips against him, barely registering the sounds that slip out of my mouth as I’m nearing the edge.

‘Let me hear how good I make you feel.’

When his tongue falls into sync with the rhythm of his fingers, I let all my inhibitions go as I tumble over, freefalling into nothing but rolling pleasure, long-awaited satisfaction and him. He’s smirking from his position between my legs, and if I could freeze this moment and paint it for my eyes only, I would.

‘Better or worse than you remembered?’

I know he knows it was better, not that the first time we’d been in this position was bad. Not at all. But now there are more emotions involved than only the thrill of one night’s recklessness. Even so, I deny him the satisfaction of my admission as I pull him back up to me.

‘I can’t say yet, because that’s not where my memory ends.’

My fingertips dance across the band of his boxers, and he hums in approval.

‘What do you want from me, Lottie?’ He shifts so he’s kneeling in front of me on the bed, every perfect muscle on full display until they disappear beneath the grey band of his underwear.

‘You know what I want.’

His tongue wets his bottom lip, and I wait for him to start removing his boxers, but instead he pushes his hands off the bed and crosses his arms over his chest. I frown, not liking how he’s obscuring my view even if it gives me a better look at his forearms.

‘Maybe I want you to say it.’

I blush, the words dying on my lips when I try to say them.

‘I want…’ I begin, stumbling even on those two words. But Rory sits back on his heels, waiting for me to go on. I try to think of something sexy to say, but the longer I hesitate, the more desperate I become for his hands again, so I settle on being blunt. ‘I want you to fuck me, Rory.’

His eyes turn to fire at my words, and he rewards me by reaching over to the top drawer of the bedside table and pulling out a small square packet. He finally removes the one piece of clothing that separated us, then rolls the condom on before lowering his body over mine.

‘Because you asked so nicely,’ he says, planting a gentle kiss on my lips as he pushes inside me.

My back arches off the bed, our bodies pressing hard against each other as he moves deeper, his hips falling into a steady rhythm as I revel in the feeling of being with him like this again. Of these moments where I’m his, and he’s mine, and there’s nothing else outside of the places our bodies come together.

‘Fuck, you have no idea how much I’ve wanted this again.’

His breath is heavy in my ear as he pulls away so our faces are aligned. He pushes deeper and I moan as he hits that place that has my body reeling, needing him not to stop. Never to stop. My face rests in the crook of his shoulder, my fingernails digging into his back as he increases the pace and I’m getting close again.

I lose myself in him. In his hot breath on my neck. In his hands where they grip the curves of my waist. In where our bodies collide, and I can’t formulate any thought that isn’t one of him. His name the only word on my lips as I say it over and over again, until his voice cracks saying my own in response.

His movements slow, until the only sound is the beating of his heart and our heavy breaths as he falls into the gap beside me. His fingers brush lazily through the length of my mussed-up hair, and my senses gradually return to me as I come down from the high he took me to.

I’d thought that first night we’d spent together might’ve been a fluke. Or that maybe I’d built it up in my mind since, but if I needed any more proof that sex with Rory is unlike anything I’ve experienced before, now I have it.

His hand squeezes my waist, and I turn my head to look at him. His lips tilt into a content smile that makes me want to cuddle in closer.
