Moving back up the bed, Dominic grabbed the cloth beside the bed before leaning in to give Onyx a kiss. “How was that?” He wiped off his fingers before starting to wipe up the mess on Onyx’s abdomen.
Onyx’s voice was rough, breathless, when he countered with, “What do you want?”
Dominic arched an eyebrow before quirking his lips into a smile. “What do I want? I just got what I wanted.” He leaned in to kiss Onyx again. “You didn’t answer my question.”
“It was fine,” Onyx said, stretching the truth a little because it had been better than fine. It had been downright good, but he wasn’t going to admit that to Dominic. But Dominic was hard now, and he’d want Onyx to do something about it.
Dominic made a sound that wasn’t quite disbelieving, but implied that Onyx’s description left a good bit to be desired. “‘Fine,’” he muttered with an amused note in his voice. “If a ‘fine’ is all I get, I’ll have to try harder next time.”
“Yeah,” Onyx said, though he couldn’t think for a moment how it couldn’t been better. Fuck. It had been amazing to have Dominic’s mouth on him, and the fingers on his prostate…
That had nearly driven him crazy. If it hadn’t been for the near flashbacks, it would’ve been amazing. If it hadn’t been for what it meant in the future, too.
“Should I, um.” Onyx stole a glance at Dominic’s hard cock, which the other witch wasn’t moving to touch or do anything about. “Touch you?” He almost whispered the words.
Dominic hummed lightly. “You don’t have to."
Onyx hadn't been expecting that answer, which put the proverbial ball right in his court. Shit. He didn’t know what to say, what to do. He should reciprocate, right?
But Dominic had gotten what he wanted. He didn’t need to come.
If he didn’t, he would owe Dominic.
With an aggrieved sigh, he reached out to grab Dominic’s cock anyway.
Dominic caught Onyx’s wrist lightly, stopping him. “You have your time tomorrow with Shane for being cooperative. Nothing further is required for that.” He released Onyx’s wrist again.
Onyx hesitated. He didn’t really want to touch Dominic, but he didn’t like the idea of being indebted to him. Then again, maybe it was only fair after all Dominic had put him through for so long. “Okay. But that’s your decision. I was gonna do it.”
Dominic smiled and pulled the blankets up, settling onto his side. “Get some sleep, Onyx.” He held his arms open for Onyx to take his expected place in them.
Onyx didn’t want to go to Dominic like this, but he did it anyway. He hated being caught in his arms, like Dominic was a spider cradling a fly. But there was no other choice. So instead of fighting it, he curled up in Dominic’s arms. “Yeah. Night.”
Chapter 19
Onyx
Today was going to be different.
Onyx remembered all too vividly what had happened the last time he’d been left alone with Shane, but that was not going to happen again.
It didn’t matter that he still wanted to die.
Onyx had seen the writing on the wall with the other pets, and no matter how many times Dominic insisted he still wanted to see the fire in Onyx’s eyes…
Well, what reason did Onyx have to believe him when Dominic was training Onyx and his body to allow for more things? Because now that Onyx had allowed Dominic to put his fingers inside him, what was next? He knew Dominic was aiming for that to be his cock, and even though Onyx’s mind rebelled at the very thought of allowing that to happen again, he couldn’t help but wonder if it was inevitable.
After nearly panicking from fingers, he didn’t think he could handle it.
He didn’t want to think about it.
Today was going to be a better day because it had to be. He didn’t want to risk never being allowed to see Shane again, and he didn’t want to risk Dominic’s ire at him for trying to kill himself. Especially since he knew there was no way to do it, not easily, not in that room, after what he’d done.
So he was going to try to enjoy it, and not get in his head, and play games, and pretend he wasn’t seeing himself slowly start to change.
A knock sounded on the door, then Shane opened the door to Dominic’s office and stepped inside.
Onyx brightened, eager to bound up to his feet from where he was sitting next to Dominic’s desk, but he kept himself in check because everything was precarious.
