He is mine.

All mine.

The words filled me with a ridiculous amount of pride as confusion flashed across both men’s faces right before the warehouse door exploded inward, making metal scream.

The massive roller door tore free from its tracks like it weighed nothing. Wild heat and fire slammed through the room. It was a display of gold and crimson and felt so alive.

For one terrifying second, it looked like the entire building would ignite, but the flames vanished in the next breath.

A figure stood in their place, and my breath caught.

Dashiel.

He stepped through the ruined entrance like an avenging god, his dark hair whipping around his face.

His glamour was gone. Completely gone. His pointed ears were visible, and power rolled from him in waves.

His eyes found me instantly. The fury inside them stole the air from my lungs, and every ounce of that rage was focused on the men standing between us.

“Dashiel,” I whispered.

His gaze swept to me and softened a little before his attention shot back to the men and darkened.

Behind him came others, the first of them elves, including several who looked like royal guards and three men who were similar to Dashiel.

Then there were the familiar faces of Riker, Razor, Soren, Spade, and— “Monkey.”

My son’s eyes locked onto me, and relief hit his face instantly. “Pops!”

“You’ve hurt my fated.” Dashiel’s voice was loud, deep, and rough.

Dashiel took another step forward, and the entire warehouse seemed to shrink around him.

Hawthorne gulped and moved back, while Martin looked like he might pass out.

Neither man understood what they’d just unleashed.

I did.

And for the first time since waking up tied to that chair, I wasn’t scared anymore.

CHAPTER TWELVE

Dashiel

Vicious fury ripped through my system the second I saw him, and I wanted to let my flames out to destroy the two responsible.

My mate. My beloved had been bound to a chair. Blood, cuts, and bruises marred his face. His eyes were swollen from all the abuse he had taken, and bruises already darkened his skin.

For one terrible moment, I saw nothing else but the pain my beloved had been through.

The warehouse disappeared.

The people around me vanished.

The only thing that existed was Landon, injured and terrified.

Hungry fire surged beneath my skin.
