He fucking whimpers. “Seeing you like this? Taking what you need from me, using my dick to make yourself come? It’s doing everything for me.”

As if to prove the point, he swings us faster, pulls me back and forth harder, and moans every time I do. His breathing matches mine, sharp and ragged. His lips are parted, his brow creased with concentration, like it’s taking everything in him not to come before me.

When he slips a hand between us to pinch my clit, I can’t hold on anymore.

A long keening moan tears from my throat as the orgasm rips through me and breaks me apart. I latch my teeth onto his shoulder to muffle the sound, but it goes on and on and on. I’m shaking, a mess of gasps and jerks, when I finally pull back to look at him.

Just in time too.

Because watching Alex come is somehow even better than coming myself. There’s so much pleasure written on his face, in his half-lidded eyes and kiss-swollen lips, that I can almost feel it myself. As if he’s pouring everything he’s feeling into me so I can experience it too.

“Eden.” My name is a prayer, tortured and dragged from his throat. “Fuck, Eden, I—”

He stops himself again, so I finish the sentence for him.

“I love you.”

He doesn’t say it back. But that’s okay. He might not be ready to say the words out loud yet, but I know they’re in there. I know they’re waiting.

And I know they’re true.

"THE BROTHERHOOD" GROUP CHAT

Roman: Alex, you owe me big time.

Alex: How’s that now?

Roman: Brynn was getting everyone together for a tour of the yard, and I managed to distract her long enough for you to finish desecrating her garden furniture.

Leo: Oh, dude, WHAT?

Roman: I’d wash the cushions on that cute little swing you’ve got, brother.

Leo: ALEX!

Alex: Consider us even for me overhearing you violating my little sister last year.

Leo: This is not the same thing. That was in the privacy of my own home. You were the one listening like a creeper.

Alex: I was coming to get my cleats, and I texted you a million times to tell you I was coming over.

Leo: I am so bored of having this argument.

Alex: Consider us even, and I’ll never bring it up again.

Leo: Fine. But you can pay for the dry cleaning.

Alex: Deal.

THIRTY-ONE

ALEX

I guess I died last night, because I’ve woken up in heaven. Eden’s hair tickles my nose as she lies draped across my chest, one hand resting under her cheek, the other clasped into mine. It’s sweaty where our bare skin touches, and I’m desperate to pee, but I’d honestly rather piss the bed than leave her right now.

Okay, that’s not true, but I’ve got at least two more minutes before things get really dire.

After we’d finished in the garden last night, we spent twenty more minutes looking up at the sky, too cloudy to see any stars, but content just to be wrapped up in each other. Then we’d fetched a snoring Macon from the sofa and come home, where we’d had sex again before finally falling asleep in a heap of sticky limbs and synchronized heartbeats.
