“Get her ass, Niana!”
That was Sabrina’s voice somewhere in the distance. Sometime during the twenty seconds of chaos, the music cut, and all I heard was people yelling—or cheering, perhaps? I didn’t have time to think about it before I saw Nia pounce on me. I put my knees up just in time to stop her from fully getting on top of me and threw jabs at her. Some landed; others didn’t.
I knew I had to get off the floor, so I grabbed Nia by her perfect lace front and flipped her off of me, giving her nothing but face shots.
“Let me go, bitch!” she screamed. That was when I felt more kicks, punches, and hair pulls.
“Get the fuck off her!” That was Robyn.
“Grab that ho, Gennel!” That was Braelyn.
I couldn’t see if they were fighting them off me, but due to all the kicks and hair pulls stopping, I knew they were the ones who had to have warded them off me. Nia and I were still on the floor—my hair in her grip, my nails digging through her braids.
“Aye! Break this shit up! Yo, Mar! Grab Nia!” That was Keith’s voice. I felt arms yank me up, but Nia still had a grip on my hair.
“Let go of my hair, psychotic-ass bitch,” I said, throwing another punch before her grip loosened, and she finally let go. My eyes skirted around the room, seeing the rest of the men pulling my friends off of Nia’s friends. When my eyes landed on Sabrina standing there smiling at me, I instantly felt incensed, yanked out of Keith’s hold, and charged at her.
I saw the smile melting off her face when she saw me coming. She tried to run, but I was quicker. I pulled her by the hair and pounded her face.
“Get off me, you crazy bitch!”
I was yanked up again by someone much stronger.
“Pipe, cool out, shorty.” That was Jalen.
“You’re done, you stupid whore! Pack your shit because you’re out of here come morning!” Sabrina screamed at me.
“Coming from the princess of all whores. Why don’t you live in your truth and tell everyone how many dicks you and your mama had to suck for you to even attend this fucking school! We all know you’re academically illiterate, you dumb bitch!”
Sabrina tried to run up on me, but I was able to break free of Jalen’s hold and deliver about six good punches before being pulled away again.
I laughed. “Hoezilla, why are you so angry? Are you mad that you can’t climb to the tallest dick and choke?”
“Fuck you, Pissy Piper! I hope you die, you stupid bitch!”
“You’ll go before me, Hoana! And if you keep talking, I got more where that came from!” I yelled at her before I was walked out the door.
“Calm down, Tyson,” Jalen said, placing me on my feet once we were on the sidewalk. I could see my friends being escorted out as well.
“I’m good. Let me go, please,” I told him. He released me.
“I need to call Lilo. This shit is bad. He gon’ lose his shit.”
Over who, though? I thought as my friends approached us.
“Tacky-ass bitches. We fucked them up!” Robyn yelled. “You okay, Piper?”
“I’m good. Did anybody grab my purse?”
“I got it.” Braelyn handed me my bag, and I immediately took out my phone, seeing four missed calls from Nana on my screen. I hurriedly dialed her back, and she picked up on the second ring.
“Piper.”
“Hey, Nana. Is everything okay?”
“No, baby. You need to get to Mercer Hospital as soon as you can.”
“I’m on my way.” I hung up. “I need to get to my car,” I said, hurrying up the street, heading back to the sorority house.
