“No problem, dear. Come on, Pebbles.” She walked away as I pulled my phone from my pocket and went to the Lyft app. Before I could even type in the coordinates, Khalil’s Benz truck came to a halt in front of me. He climbed out of the car and headed my way, and I completely ignored his presence.

“Pipe, get in the car, baby.”

“I am not your baby. Your babies’ names are Kiyanne and Nia.”

He tucked his lips then let out a frustrated sigh. “Piper, get in the car, please.”

“I’m good. I’m getting a Lyft.”

“You’re not getting in no Lyft. I don’t know how many times I have to say that shit.”

“Look. You don’t have to look out for me because of what we’ve done. It should have never happened, especially since you did it when you knew you were in a relationship with your child’s mother.”

“I’m not in shit with her. We have not been together since a little before Kiy was born.”

“That’s not what she said.”

“Fuck what she said. She would say anything to make you mad.”

I chuckled. “She can’t make someone mad that has no attachments to you. Like I said, I’m good. You can go to school. I’ll be okay.”

“Piper, if you have anybody pull up on this block, it’s gon’ be an issue.”

I frowned. “And what are you going to do if they do?”

“Fuck around and find out if you want to. Now, to avoid some bullshit happening, I suggest you get in the truck so I can take you back to campus. You ain’t even gotta talk to me. Just let me get you back safely.”

I could feel myself hating him again, which was good for me.

I didn’t want to like him anymore, and I would never let him touch me again.

Begrudgingly, I made my way to the passenger side as he followed.

“Don’t. I can open and close my own door,” I told him. I didn’t need him showing me any chivalry. That shit was dead with him as far as I was concerned.

He raised his palms in mock surrender, then walked around to the driver’s side, got in, and pulled out of the gates. Just thinking about what had occurred this early in the damn morning had me annoyed. I couldn’t wait to call my mama and tell her about this.

It was partially my fault for allowing my thoughts and desires to get ahead of me, but I wouldn’t lie and say I didn’t want it or enjoy every lick, suck, and kiss he provided.

I more than enjoyed it.

To have the star basketball player’s head between my legs, eating me up not once, but twice, was a complete win in my book. I was glad this situation happened before I gave any more thought into whatever the hell this was we were doing.

We were silent the whole drive back to campus. He drove slowly toward my dorm until he finally pulled into the front of the building. I reached for the handle, but he stopped me.

“Can I just talk to you for a second. Please?”

“There’s nothing to talk about really. It’s not like you owe me any explanations. We barely know each other aside from seeing each other around campus every now and then, and even then, you’ve never paid a lick of attention to me. So, really, it’s okay. I’m not upset. It just would have been nice if you wouldn’t have done that to me in the bed or home you share with your child’s mother.”

“Nia does not live with me, and we are not together. I wouldn’t lie to you about that. I admit that she does want to give us another chance, but I can’t be with someone who abandons their child and isn’t mentally stable. I ain’t copping pleas here, Piper, but I don’t want this situation to be a problem with us. She doesn’t even come around often, and I have no clue how the fuck she got in my house.”

I shook my head and got out of the car. I leaned into the car when I said, “Like I said, it’s fine. I’m not mad. I’ll work on the first two pages of the paper and have it to you by Monday.”

“Pi—” I closed the door in his face and hurriedly made my way inside the building. I didn’t want to talk anymore about what happened. It happened, and now it was done.

If I had to be honest with myself, I was already missing the feel of his tongue pressed firmly against my clit. It throbbed at the memory of how his thick tongue moved with precision and had my legs shaking and jerking like I had epilepsy.

Stop thinking about him, Piper. Don’t let this situation get to you, I told myself as I entered my dorm room. I was glad Braelyn was still out. There was no way I wanted to explain where I was or what happened last night into this morning.
