His smile is infectious, and I know I should tell him that I’m coming home soon enough and he doesn’t have to bother, but seeing Wyatt every day until I do is too tempting to pass up. “Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow then.”

“Yes, you will,” he tells me, leaning down and taking my mouth in another kiss. “Love you, honey bee.”

I sigh happily as I give him one last hug. “I love you too,” I tell him, watching as he walks to his truck and hops inside.

The passenger window rolls down and he nods at the bar. “You know I’m not leaving until you’re safely inside,” he says with a smirk.

“Alright, alright,” I say, blowing him a kiss and turning and walking up to the bar. True to his word, Wyatt waits until I’m at the door to even start his truck. With one last smile and wave in his direction, I head back into work to finish my shift.

As I pass Thumper, he smiles at me. “I think you have a good one there, Miss Georgie,” he says, bumping me with his shoulder.

“Yea, yea I do.” I smile at him and walk up to Knuckles. He’s not surprised when I give my notice and tells me to just finish out the rest of my shifts this week and I can be done. I’m so excited that I can barely contain myself, and the smile doesn’t leave my face for the next few hours, or as I go to sleep, dreaming about a life with Wyatt I didn’t think was possible, but now is looking more and more certain.

Chapter Seven

~Wyatt~

True to my word, I spend every evening making the drive out to Oklahoma City and spending a good couple of hours watching my little honey bee as she flits around the bar, delivering food, alcohol, and cheer to everyone who interacts with her before she’s able to take her break with me.

Every night this week has seen me falling more and more in love with Georgie. Not only is she still taking care of everyone in her sight, making sure they have everything they need, but she’s listened so intently to all my ideas for the ranch, and been sharing more and more of herself with me at the same time.

As we sit and enjoy a small snack together, I tell her all about what we’re doing at the ranch and what I want the future to look like, and she tells me all about the books she’s reading, about her elderly neighbor who she’s pretty fond of despite the woman’s grumpy exterior, and some of the ways she’s made due without a proper kitchen.

Wiping a tear from the corner of my eye, I try to contain my laughter after she’s finished describing one of her first culinary adventures. “Let me get this straight,” I chuckle, loving the way my girl’s face is lit up with joy. “Your hot plate was cooking the tomato soup, so you made a grilled cheese with an iron?”

Georgie shrugs a shoulder. “It was the only other thing I had that would work.” She smiles at me and I squeeze her hand that’s laced with mine on the tabletop.

“That’s pretty creative,” I tell her, loving the way her eyes light up anytime I compliment her. It’s a look I hope to see on her face a lot more. “Though I shouldn’t be surprised. You are the same woman who made a makeshift washtub from an empty feed bucket and a cooling rack when our washer was on the fritz.”

I remember that day vividly. Georgie frowning down at the broken washer, then picking up the laundry basket and marching outside, throwing a washtub together, and scrubbing clothes until they were cleaner than they’d ever been.

“You remember that?” She asks, a shy smile on her face. “That was like four years ago.”

Bringing her hand up to my mouth, I kiss her knuckles, enjoying the way her cheeks blush every time I touch her. I want to see just how far down that blush can go, but I can wait. Every night Georgie walks me to my truck and lets me kiss her goodnight is heaven and hell, an exercise in patience. I want this woman in my house and in my bed permanently, and I feel like I am holding on by a thread.

“Oh, my sweet honey bee. When it comes to you, I remember everything.”

Georgie’s eyes light up even more and she bites her lip. My eyes never leave hers as I watch her get up from the table and come over to where I’m sitting. “Wyatt,” she says, her voice low. “Take me home.”

My eyes search hers and the more I do the bigger the smile gets on my face. “Really? Like home to the ranch home?”

Georgie nods, but then shakes he head slightly. “Well, yes.” Her hand trails along the buttons of my shirt. “But also no. I mean, I do have to pack up my things, and it is a long drive back to Juniper Creek. Maybe you could spend the night before we head back tomorrow?”

Her expression is vulnerable, and I know how much courage it took her to ask me that, especially after my idiocy a few months back. “You sure, honey bee? Because once we go there you are mine forever.”

Every time I kiss her goodnight, I spend the ninety minute ride home with a rock hard cock and it stays hard even after I jerk it in the shower to thoughts of our kisses and fantasies of more happening. “No take backs, no running away.”

“I’ve always been yours, Wyatt,” she says, slinging her purse over her shoulder. “Now take me home.”

My smile turns feral as I scoop her up and over my shoulder. “No need to tell me twice,” I tell her as I stride towards the door, Georgie’s giggle filing the air.

“By everyone,” she says. “You’ve all been really nice.”

A chorus of goodbyes goes up and I smile at how loved my girl is. With one last nod to the bouncer, I carry my girl out of the parking lot and over to my truck. I open the passenger door and let Georgie down.

“We’ll come back for your car tomorrow. I’m not letting you out of my sight,” I tell her before I take her mouth in a passionate kiss. Our tongues slide together much like they have all week, only now I don’t have to hold back. My control has snapped and the only thing keeping me from taking Georgie right here in the parking lot is privacy. This hot body is for my eyes only.

“Hop in. honey bee,” I tell her with a light swat to her ass. After I get her all buckled in, I adjust myself in my pants and jog over to the driver side.
