I gave him a look.
“Yes, Kyrie.”
His eyes searched mine for another second before he nodded.
“Aight.”
He lifted my bag, tucked it into the back, and shut the hatch.
Drayla folded her arms across the steering wheel.
“You done?”
“Nawl.”
She rolled her eyes.
“I knew it.”
Kyrie stepped over to her window.
“Drive safe.”
“I got it.”
“I'm serious.”
“So am I.”
“If she tell you she tired, pull over.”
“Kyrie…”
“If she don't feel good—”
“I ain't gon’ let nothing happen to your wife.”
His jaw flexed.
“I know.”
Drayla's expression softened.
“I got her.”
He looked back at me like he still needed convincing.
I climbed back out and walked over to him, sliding my hands up his chest.
“I'm okay.”
“I know.”
“I'll call you when we get there.”
“You better.”
I smiled before kissing him.
