“Good.” She leaned back against the couch. “Then we understand each other.”
I looked down at my phone before laughing under my breath.
“So now you suddenly too good for this shit?”
“Girl, please. Ain’t nobody say all that.”
“Sure sounds like it.”
“Nawl. I still don’t fuck with Sianni.” Her face twisted. “I just ain’t finna keep doing dumb shit behind a nigga who don’t want me.”
I rolled my eyes.
Marissa stared at me for a second before shaking her head.
“You know what your problem is?”
“Here the fuck we go.”
“I’m serious.”
“I know exactly what my problem is.”
“And apparently, you plan to keep that shit going.”
“Damn right.”
She laughed under her breath. “See, that's the difference between me and you. I know when some shit ain't worth my time anymore.”
“Congratulations. You want a fucking cookie?”
“Nawl. I want you to leave me out of whatever the fuck you do next.”
I looked at her.
“You heard me, Lex. Whatever else you got planned for Sianni, don’t involve me.”
I stared at her for a few seconds before a laugh slipped from my lips.
“Ain’t nobody need you anyway.”
“Good. Then we understand each other.”
I stood from the couch and grabbed my phone.
“Trust me, we do.”
I headed toward my room, but Marissa’s voice stopped me before I made it all the way down the hall.
“And Lex?”
I looked back.
“Just remember, that bitch pregnant now. Whatever beef you got with her, you might wanna think about how far you take that shit.”
My face twisted.
“Marissa, mind your fucking business.”
