She hadn't moved since Nathan introduced himself.

Neither had he.

Two captains.

Separated by fifty yards of water...

And thirty years of unanswered questions.

Nathan lifted the speaking trumpet again.

"I know what you're wondering."

Storm answered through the loudspeaker.

"I have a lot of questions."

"I know."

"Then start answering them."

A sad smile crossed his face.

"I can't."

Storm's shoulders stiffened.

"Can't..."

"...or won't?"

Nathan looked toward the empty horizon.

Then back to Storm.

"Both."

Ben folded his arms.

"I don't like this."

Neither did I.

But Nathan wasn't refusing because he enjoyed secrets.

He was refusing because he was afraid.

That interested me.

Nathan spoke again.

"Captain Sinclair."

Storm looked at him.

"Your grandfather trusted your judgment."

"I hope you'll trust mine."
