“Alright, I hear you.”

Okay, maybe I’ve missed a few practice sessions.

Okay, maybe a lot of practice sessions.

I’ve been hanging out at Tyson’s place so much lately after our dates. Never in a million years would I think I’d be inseparable from Tyson Moon. But nothing is beating curling up under him after a long day. Especially a workday. I’m also finishing up my last few weeks at the cafe. I got an internship offer at Riserr that I have a feeling has something to do with a certain pierced-face man, whom I need to talk to about that. I could hear him in my head saying I’m too prideful and took the job.

So excited to at least be doing something that has to do with gaming in the meantime of building my career back up. Though I’ll be an intern, hopefully I can impress them enough for a full-time position.

“You heard Tyson signed on to play another few years,” Lucas says beside me, logging into Seeker.

“Yeah, I saw that! Looks like we’ll have to get ready to take him again next tournament. I was hoping he’d quit soon.” Milo laughs.

“That’s good, keep us on our toes. I hate an easy win,” Zayne hums.

“Hmnn, someone’s pretty quiet over there.” Milo grins at me.

“What are you talking about?” I squint my eyes at him, annoyed already.

“You’ve been real quiet about Tyson lately. Not snapping like usual.”

“I’m always quiet when we talk about Tyson.”

“Not at all,” Zayne laughs.

“Yeah, actually you always have something bad to say about him. At least one thing,” Milo harps on.

“That’s not true. Besides, he’s fine. I’ll get my title back from him eventually,” I say, and they all turn their heads toward me.

“What?” I look at them one by one as they continue to stare, mouths agape.

“Eventually?” Zayne says slowly. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine! Can we just practice? I don’t have all night.”

Cause I want to get back to my… boyfriend? Are we boyfriends? He hasn’t asked yet. I hope he isn’t expecting me to ask, cause it’ll never happen. And sure, maybe I should tell them about me and Ty, but I clearly don’t even know what me and Ty are yet. I’m also not ready for all the teasing I’ll have to endure afterwards. I know they won’t mind, but I’ll never hear the end of it.

“Something’s not right. But maybe you’re just tired.”

“Exactly, and you guys are making me even more exhausted.”

“Sure thing!” Milo laughs, popping a chip into his mouth.

“Gimme those! I didn’t bring those for you!” I yelp, snatching the bag away from him.

Ty bought me those snacks.

“What’s this?” I ask, holding up my job offer to Tyson’s face as soon as he opens the door to his apartment. My eyes flick over his body quickly. He’s in a black hoodie, halfway zipped, his bare chest peeking through.

“You just got here, and you’re already interrogating me?” he says, smirking at me.

“Did you do this?”

“Maybe? Maybe not.” Tyson shrugs, pulling me into a hug and walking us back into the living room, grabbing his headset on the way. He must have been practicing with the team when I showed up.

“Oh, that’s a shame. If you did, I was maybe thinking of rewarding you.”
