“Holy fuck,” he grits out, gripping the base of his cock as I circle my newly-slicked fingers around his hole. It coats his skin with my heavy orange blossom scent, and his back arches into my touch as I push a finger past his tight rim.

He lets out a stuttered moan. “You okay?” I ask, and he nods frantically, pushing back against my fingers.

“Yeah,” he gasps. “That feels wild. Give me another.”

I slide another in, taking my time to open him up. He’s tight—hot velvet wrapped around my fingers, his body not built for this like mine is, but swallowing me up all the same. His breath hitches at the stretch, but he lets me work him open, grunting softly every time I slip deeper, stretching him wider. My cock throbs in time with every twitch of his hips, desperate to feel that tightness wrapped around me.

“You’re gonna feel so good around me,” I say softly, leaning forward so my chest is pressed against his back and I can drop a kiss against the back of his neck as he exhales shakily.

“I’m ready,” he growls impatiently, his voice a rough rasp that sends a jolt of electricity through me. “Put it in. Fuck, I want you so badly.”

My heart thumps unevenly, and I withdraw my fingers and gather more slick to spread over my cock. I’m so riled up from working Jed open that even the light friction of my hand makes my hips kick, arousal burning hot and heavy through my veins.

I position myself at his entrance, watching in awe as he arches back for me, his lithe body stunning in the warm glow of the fireflies. I take his waist in both hands and slowly drive forwards, sinking inside him inch by inch.

I groan as Jed makes a tight, broken sound, reaching back to pull me against him. His inner muscles clench around me, the pleasure so hot it makes my vision blur.

“You good?” I say when I’m buried to the hilt, the flesh of his ass pressing against my hips as I give him time to adjust.

“I feel so fucking… full,” he rasps, turning his lips to catch mine in a breathless kiss as I slide my hand under his shirt and over his powerful, trembling body, resting my hand over his heart. “You feel good. Damn. Fuck me, please, Aid.”

“Whatever you say, alpha,” I groan, and then I pull my hips back and snap them forward, rocking Jed against the tree and drawing a surprised gasp out of him. I set a steady, relentless rhythm, keeping us close so I can thrust into him in short, sharp strokes that have a string of curses spilling out of his mouth between kisses. Jed takes every bit of it, his bourbon and cherry scent so thick I can taste it as he braces himself against the tree and asks me for more.

I can tell the exact moment I hit the sensitive bundle of nerves inside him, because he tenses around me with a shocked, “What the fuck?”

From there it’s only a matter of time. I angle my hips to hit that same spot over and over, reaching down to wrap my hand back around his cock and stroke him in time with my thrusts. That’s all it takes. Jed goes still, his hole clenching around my throbbing length as he comes with a deep groan, painting his hand and the tree bark in front of him. His lips don’t leave mine as the feeling of his walls milking me sends me over the edge too, and I spill inside him, clinging to his back as the world goes white and pleasure pulses through every nerve ending.

“Oh my god,” Jed pants as we come down, his chest heaving under my hand as we melt bonelessly into each other. I pull out of him with a wince. “Ugh. Weird.”

I laugh softly, helping him to straighten and tucking myself away. We both look wrecked; hair a mess, clothes rumpled, hands sticky. He straightens my glasses, looking sated and gorgeous, his eyes glittering. “Did you… are you okay?” I ask.

Jed snorts, leaning back against the tree and looking at me with soft eyes. “Are you kidding? I think you might have just changed the entire trajectory of my life. I didn’t know—” he laughs, shaking his head. “I think you’ve ruined me. Nothing can top that.”

I smile. “I mean, I just topped that.”

“Wow, Aid,” he chuckles, pulling me against him and wrapping a strong, protective arm around my waist. “I think fucking me made you funnier.”

There’s a hopeless warmth blooming in my chest that’s threatening to split me wide open. I press my face into the crook of his neck, breathing in the heady mix of our combined scents.

Eventually one of us tugs the other down to the floor so we can lie in the soft grass and watch the fireflies drifting lazily above us like tiny, floating embers. The anxiety of this morning is gone. I don't know what tomorrow brings, or how I’m going to navigate the aftermath of me finally standing up to my dad, but holding Jed in the dark, I know with absolute certainty that we're not just pretending anymore.

Jed

I wake up to the morning sun slanting through the thin hotel curtains, the warm glow that settled in my chest last night still there.

Aiden is still dead to the world beside me, his dark curls a tangled wreck against his forehead, his breathing deep and even. One of his thick thighs is thrown lazily over mine, trapping me in place, and I run my hand over it gently, feeling the muscle twitch as he dreams.

He frowns in his sleep, then the creases smooth out again as his face relaxes, his thick eyelashes fanning out over his cheeks. I try to run through my usual morning mental checklist—checkout time, when I need to be back at the gym, what clients I’m seeing today—but my brain won’t crank into gear. I’m too busy looking at the way Aiden’s cheeks are pink from sleep, and playing reruns of last night in my head.

All of yesterday, actually.

Holding Aiden’s hand as his sister walked down the aisle, and the way his scent bloomed when he caught me looked at him during the ceremony. The way he shut down his piece-of-work father at dinner like an absolute champion. Backing me against a tree, taking total control, and blowing my fucking mind into another dimension. The way he looked at me after, like we were real.

The way it felt real.

And then I think all the way back to the moment he walked into the gym nearly eight months ago, and even before I’d smelled his scent I just wanted to be near him. And it hits me like a smack to the face:

I am completely, utterly, irredeemably in love with Aiden. Holy fuck.
