“You good?” I whisper, my voice thick.

“So good,” he chokes out, his hands reaching up to grip my biceps, his dark eyes opening to lock onto mine. “Don't stop. I want all of you.”

I slowly ease the rest of my length inside him, burying myself to the hilt in his heat. The sensation is so incredible it tears a guttural groan straight out of my chest. Aiden arches into it with a long, helpless sigh, his legs wrapping tight around my waist to lock me close.

I rut into him with sharp snaps of my hips, building to a steady rhythm that has both of us falling apart far too quickly. Sweat beads on my neck as I drive forward again and again, the wet slap of our skin colliding obscene and intoxicating in the small space.

“F-fuck, Jed,” Aiden moans, his hands scrambling against my back and his face twisted in pleasure. “I’m not gonna last. God, right there—”

My mouth drops open as I watch his cock stiffen against his stomach, red and untouched.

“You gonna come just from my cock, omega?” I say breathlessly, amazed and turned on beyond belief. “Gonna make a mess all over your pretty stomach for me?”

Aiden makes a choked, broken sound and tenses around me, his body pulling taut like a string. And then his hole is clenching around me in powerful waves as his eyes squeeze shut, his cock spurting in thick ribbons across his abs as he comes completely untouched, and fuck if that isn’t the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.

I watch him fall apart and fuck him through it for as I long as I can before I lose control. I go to pull out, but Aiden uses his incredible strength to pull me balls deep as I come apart, my cock pulsing inside him as my vision blurs at the edges, narrowing down to nothing but the perfect omega trembling around me and the expression of total bliss on his face.

Aiden lets out a huffed chuckle against my neck—a soft, almost disbelieving sound. I can't help the breathy laugh that bubbles out of me in response, our foreheads pressing together in the dim light as our lungs fight to catch up. I press a kiss to his scent gland, and he shivers.

“Fucking hell, Aid,” I whisper, my voice wrecked and happy.

He lets out another faint exhale of a laugh, his dark eyes crinkling at the corners in that lovely way I’ve grown kind of addicted to over the last month. His hands are still loosely wrapped around my back, his body boneless beneath mine.

I lean in, kissing him slow and deep until I start to soften, slipping out of him with a faint grunt. When I pull back, he looks satisfied and more than a little sleepy.

“I'm gonna…” I clear my throat, reluctantly untangling my legs from his and slipping out of the warm bed. “I'll be right back.”

I pad bare-footed into the hotel bathroom, rinsing off at the sink and running a hand towel under warm water. When I step back out into the soft glow of the bedroom, I stop, watching him.

Aiden is already fast asleep. He’s sprawled on his back, dark curls messy against the white pillow, his glasses sitting crookedly on the bridge of his nose where he clearly drifted off mid-stretch.

A helpless smile tugs at my mouth. I walk over, carefully sliding his glasses off his face and placing them gently on the nightstand. I use the damp towel to wipe down his stomach and thighs, but he barely stirs, just letting out a soft hum into the mattress.

I toss the cloth aside, crawl back into bed, and pull the thin sheet over both of us. I drag his back against my chest, wrapping my arms tight around his waist and burying my face into the crook of his neck, breathing in the sweet, rich tang of orange blossom and my lingering bourbon, now completely intertwined.

Aiden

I wake up with Jed’s heavy, tattooed arm slung over my waist, his warm chest pressed against my back. His breath is a slow, rhythmic puff against the nape of my neck, his scent clinging to my skin.

For five incredible seconds, my mind drifts back to last night—the dizzying high of finally feeling his lips on mine, the praise that tumbled out of him every time his eyes swept over my trembling body, the agonizing release of him filling me to the brim.

Then, like clockwork, the anxiety crashes over me.

The wedding is today. An entire day of unavoidable, close-proximity contact with my family, with high emotions and alcohol thrown into the mix. The tension between my father and I was already nearly at breaking point during the rehearsal dinner, and that was only a couple of hours. Not to mention the undercurrent of what the fuck that’s constantly scratching at the back of my mind after last night with Jed, a quiet commentary of where do we stand and what happens when this is over that’s running on a loop.

But that’s not the priority for today. I can’t let it be. Today is about Lucie, and making sure that nothing goes wrong on her big day. For today, Jed is my alpha; a gorgeous human shield against the torpedo of shit that is my dad, his scent a calming tonic pulling me off the edge of a constant panic attack. We can figure everything else out later.

Jed stirs behind me, shifting his weight and pulling me a fraction tighter against him. He buries his face in my hair, inhaling deeply.

“Morning,” he rumbles, his voice thick with sleep. He presses a soft, lazy kiss to my shoulder blade, utterly unbothered, and some of my tension eases. At least Jed is incapable of making things weird.

“Morning,” I whisper. “There’s no coffee machine. Should I declare you medically dead now and be done with it?”

“Yes,” he mumbles with a faint, sleepy smile, hooking his leg over mine. “I had a good run. Tell my family I think they’re a bunch of dickheads.”

There’s no doubt that something has changed between us as we get ready—the intimate touches we’d been reserving for time around my family come easily now, even in the privacy of the hotel room. Jed brushes his thumb over my hip while we share the bathroom sink, and I find myself straightening his tie for him before we leave, running my hands down his chest under the guise of smoothing his shirt, just for an excuse to touch him.

But he’s also as casual as ever. Every time I think his eyes are lingering on me for a few seconds too long, his gaze dropping to my lips, he swoops in with a joke to break the tension. I can’t tell if he’s trying to ease my obvious nerves or avoiding whatever the fuck is going on between us.
