“Yes. And yes.”
“And sex?” she said in a high-pitched voice.
“No pressure. But if that’s something we both want, then yes. Sex.”
Chapter Nineteen
Holy moly.
Holy. Moly. Holy. Moly.
Casey watched as he undid her makeshift bandage around her hand.
He clicked his tongue before placing her hand under running warm water. She flinched but still didn’t say anything. Her brain was stuck on a loop, thinking about his proposition.
A Daddy?
Rules and spankings? That was what he meant, right?
And sex?
Holy. Moly.
Was she ready for sex? Her body screamed yes. Her body screamed that it was about time she got down and dirty with this hunky guy.
“I’m going to have to dig the splinters out of your hand,” he warned. “It will probably hurt.”
“There’s only one splinter,” she countered as he grabbed a pair of tweezers and a needle from the first-aid kit.
A needle? Why did he need a needle?
Her breathing started to grow rapid.
“It would just be a temporary thing,” he said casually as he started getting to work on her hand.
“What? The splinters?”
Don’t look at what he’s doing. Don’t look.
Urgh, she’d always struggled to listen to orders. Even when the orders came from herself.
“No. Us.”
“Huh?” She wasn’t keeping up. The pain was too much.
You’re an idiot. It’s barely hurting.
Be brave.
Stop being a baby.
Great. Her father was back in her head.
“We are temporary. This . . . arrangement would just be a temporary thing while you’re here. And then you’ll leave and I’ll stay. I just wanted to make it clear that I wasn’t expecting anything more. I know you’re not staying. I won’t get attached to you in any way.”
Right.
She didn’t know why she was surprised by the fact that he was just laying it out there like that. Jeb was a straight shooter.
