She could talk herself into being good enough for a relationship with Trapp, especially after forty-eight hours together in his ambulance, but his family was another matter. She closed her eyes, attempting to focus on the rub of his body beneath her, the slight pull of his foreskin as she rocked herself against him, his big hands pressing against hers.

“Who all is going to be there? You know, I hated you like twenty-four hours ago. What if I tell them that?!”

“I know,” he laughed. “We were still trying to get each other fired last week, I think.”

She added her laughter to his, breaking off on a gasp when he guided his cock into her. For several moments, that was as far as she took him. Rocking her hips back and forth, just his head inside her, until Trapp’s hands released hers, sliding down her body, landing on her hips.

“Everyone is going to be there, but you’re going to do great. Just like you’re doing right now.”

Adriana closed her eyes, letting the low hum of his voice ground her. She rocked herself lower, sliding down his shaft slowly. Without a heat rippling through her, he was a tight fit. Tight, but her body remembered him, opening in welcome. The girth of him spread her open, pressing against her inner walls, making her feel the drag of every inch of him. She remembered once feeling as though she were impaled on his cock, but she felt curiously in control just then.

“I’ll be there with you the whole time. I won’t ever leave you alone.” Her mouth dropped open as he pulled her hips down slowly. “Just like that. Nice and slow. Fuck, you’re so tight.”

They were far from the moon, and there was no knot impeding her ability to sit flush against him, the fullness of him inside her a heavy pressure that made her desperate to move. She flattened her palms against his skin, feeling his muscles quiver and jump beneath her. Trapp groaned when she began to rock, bracing herself against him.

“Who is everyone?” she ground out, gasping when he began to rock up into her, her spine quivering when his cock bumped that hidden, nerve-ending packed spot within her.

“My parents. My brothers. Their partners.” His voice was tense, his fingers tight against her skin. “You don’t need to be nervous. It’s too chaotic for any one person to stand out. Why do I feel like I haven’t come in a month? You’ve got me ready to explode.”

Adriana whimpered. He’d begun rolling his thumb over her clit, her breath hitching. She knew exactly how he felt. “That’s probably for the best,” she gasped out. “Because I need to go home and get ready. And I don’t even know if you should be orgasming while concussed.”

He came inside her with a hot rush, filling her like a balloon, and the pressure of it broke her control. Adriana keened, tightening around him, pitching forward against his chest.

“I can’t believe you’re making me meet your family seventy-two hours after you called me a horrible person.”

She was laughing when he pushed her off him, his handsome face screwed up in a scowl.

“See, this is what I mean. Revisionist history. All of the schemers will be at lunch, so you’ll fit in great.”

Now he was directing her up the driveway to a castle, and she could barely breathe.

“Oh, park next to them there,” he directed, pointing to two identical black pickup trucks parked on the horseshoe drive.

“You all have matching trucks? I didn’t realize that was a thing rich people did.”

He was laughing before she’d even finished. “My mom came with me when I bought mine, and she liked it so much, we got them together. I probably should have mentioned this already, but I am a mama’s boy. No shame in that game; I know who loves me best, and it’s not my dad. But she’s amazing. I know she’s going to love you. Anyway, then Grayson got mad that we didn’t tell him we were going car shopping, so he bought one, and we all matched for like a week. But he never drove it, and he let our kid brother take it with him to school.” He turned, eyes meeting hers. “Just to prepare you, he goes to Mercy.”

“Of course he does.”

Fucking of course. Deep breath. You can do this. Fake it till you fucking make it.

She was in the process of stepping down from the tall truck when a petite, dark-haired woman popped out from behind the door, scaring her half to death.

“Hiii! I’m so glad you’re both here!”

Adriana yelped as the woman engulfed her, barely processing the sneak-attack greeting.

“I’m Vanessa, it’s so nice to meet you. I just know we’re going to be great friends!”

Trapp came around the front of the truck, scowling. “Vanessa, what the hell are you doing? Were you hiding in the bushes waiting for us?!”

Adriana trembled as the woman took a step back, giving her a chance to catch her breath. She was lovely — thick, swingy dark hair, perfect makeup, fashionably dressed. The dress she wore was not dissimilar to what Adriana herself had chosen, and she breathed a sigh of relief, glad she had copied the mothers from the office so well.

“Shut the fuck up, Trapp,” the woman hissed, all traces of her welcoming exuberance gone. “Yes, I was waiting for you. I’m not going to let Victoria get her first. She already got Tabitha. I cannot be without an ally in this family. And she’s going to need one too.” Her brilliant smile was back, twinkling at Adriana as she opened her arms wide, posing like she was announcing a game show prize, full jazz hands. “And it’s meee!”

Trapp snorted, shaking his head. “See? This is what I was talking about. Constant scheming. You’re going to fit right in here. Nessa, you really are just marrying your reflection.”

“Um, it’s . . . nice to meet you?”
