“They were just mad they couldn’t get past me,” he shrugs. “Won’t be the last time I piss off some players.” His lips turn upwards as he leans closer. “Worried about me, little moon?”
“Maybe a little,” I lie, feeling the heat radiate off his body, sending sparks throughout mine.
“Only a little?” He dips his head closer, and his warm breath hits my skin.
“More than I should,” I swallow.
“I think it’s safe to say we both are feeling more than we should,” he breathes next to my ear as his hand grips my waist. “I’ve missed you these past few days, and that’s not easy for me to admit.”
I smile into the shadows and run my fingers through his hair at his nape.
“I’ve missed you, too. More than I should,” I add softly.
Groaning, his mouth finds mine as our lips collide in a desperate attempt to sate something inside that may never be fully quenched.
He steps closer until our bodies are fully molded together, and I feel whole for the first time this week.
His fingers dig into my waist, keeping me locked against him. He’s hard against my stomach, and my ache for him grows stronger.
“Let’s get out of here,” he growls against my lips. “I’ll drive you home.”
Nodding, I kiss him again, not ready to let him go just yet.
My tongue collides with his, and my fingers curl harder into his hair. He fully takes charge again as his hand slides up my thigh and cups my ass under my skirt, raising my leg slightly as he presses into me.
I moan at the contact and bite his bottom lip.
“Luna,” he warns in a throaty whisper. “If you don’t want to be fucked in public, it’s time to go. Now,” he adds with assertiveness. “Text Sophia or Olivia. We are leaving.”
He steps back enough to break contact, but still keeps his body as a shield over me as I fumble for my phone in my purse. I send a quick text to Sophia letting her know Cayden is driving me home.
“Done,” I smile breathlessly as his eyes search mine. His jaw ticks as his intense stare has me locked in place. Emotions flit across his face in a mix of confusion and chaos.
I can tell he’s struggling, and I wish I knew the answers to help him, but this is something he has to figure out on his own. It’s becoming more and more clear to me that I mean more to him than just a casual fling.
What’s not completely clear is what he’s going to do about it.
He drops his hand off the wall and runs it over his scruff as if he’s trying to scrub away his feelings.
“Let’s go,” he finally says, taking my hand and leading me back into the main hall and out into the throes of people. He bypasses the VIP section and instead pulls me through a side door leading out into an alleyway.
The air has a slight chill to it, and I notice he doesn’t have his jacket with him. “You’ve left your jacket,” I say, stopping in my tracks. “The walk back will be cold.”
His lips pull at the sides, and he shakes his head slightly. “Worrying about me again,” he chuckles to himself.
I get the feeling it’s not something he’s used to as I watch him wrestle with this new feeling.
“One of the guys will grab it for me,” he finally says. “As for the cold…I’m pretty sure I have enough heat flooding through my veins right now to keep me warm,” he smirks, pulling me with him as he begins walking toward the arena.
His hand is warm against mine, and the little thumb strokes he’s doing over my skin are making my heart flutter against my chest as he keeps me close to his side.
When we finally get to the parking garage, he heads straight for a sleek black Porsche that blinks alive when we get close.
“This is yours?” I ask, staring at the beautiful machine.
“It’s mine,” he smiles, watching me admire the black beauty.
“How many vehicles do you own?” I laugh, trailing my hand over the hood. I’ve always wanted to ride in a sexy car like this, but my dancer budget says otherwise.
