Chapter35
Tristan
The door shutbehind Nikki and I turned to find Rochelle laughing.
I never wanted to hit a woman before. I wanted to now.
She cackled as every one of my muscles bunched and tensed.
“Oh, darling. I truly couldn’t have planned that any better. That was the woman you were telling me about, wasn’t it? Your dear Nikki? I’ve struck gold tonight, haven’t I?”
She let out another laugh and I stepped closer, about to lose control.
“Get the fuck out of here Rochelle. I never want to see you again; do you understand me? Get out of my shop and leave me ALONE,” I roared, watching her eyes widen.
“But I left you a voicemail. You knew I was coming. We were going to work something out, weren’t we?”
I seethed and took a step closer, and she stepped back, daunted. “Not now. Not after what you just said to Nikki. You made her think–Just get out. Get the fuck out.”
I pointed at the door and she hurried toward it, mumbling, “Perhaps you’ll be in a better mood on Sunday. I’ll speak to you about my offer then.”
“I’m not interested!” I yelled, but the door shut behind Rochelle, leaving me with nothing but gut-wrenching despair.
