Once the condom was affixed, Olivia grasped his shoulders and lowered herself until he was inside her.

Laying his hands on her hips, Gideon moved her back and forth in a rocking motion.

“Oh! Oh, yes,” she moaned.

He moved her hips faster while lifting his own, thrusting deep. Olivia met his movements and leaned forward so her sensitive nub could rub against him. He leaned in and suckled on her breast. It didn’t take long, Olivia cried out, her nails scored his shoulders.

“Do it, come for me again,” Gideon demanded.

Could she?

It appeared so, for Olivia rode him again to another earth-shattering peak. Gideon swore, and she cupped his cheeks and kissed him fiercely as his body jerked with his release.

Gideon had introduced her to such a sensual and very private world where only the two of them resided. He stroked her arm as he held her close.

Nothing else mattered.

The past was forgotten, if only momentarily.

Would there ever come a time when Olivia could banish it permanently?

She couldn’t think of that now or what may lay in the future. That would come soon enough with the breaking dawn.

All Olivia wanted was to stay here, in his arms.

Perhaps—forever.

And that had her petrified right down to her toes.

Chapter 13

The next morning at breakfast, Olivia joined him wearing the same gold and brown gown she had worn to the tea room. Gideon stood as soon as she entered the room, then dismissed the footmen.

“Allow me to fetch you breakfast. We worked up quite the appetite last night, and I made certain the staff laid out a spread of assorted breakfasting foods,” he suggested.

He pulled out her chair, and she sat, giving him another of her sunny smiles. “Then wait on me by all means,” she purred, sending frissons of desire along his spine.

All Olivia had to do was beam at him, and he was gone.

Gideon strode to the side table and lifted the lids on the silver chafing dishes. “There is scrambled eggs with chives, or poached eggs, bacon, or country sausage, crumpets, or cheese turnovers,” he took the lid off the last receptacle. “Oh, and look. Poached salmon.”

“Salmon, my favorite. You requested it just for me?”

“Yes. I did.”

“Would it be terrible if I said a little bit of everything?”

Gideon laughed. “Not at all. A little bit of everything, it is.”

Giving her a teasing smile, he placed the heaping plate in front of her. “Eat it all, like a good girl.”

“Are you commanding me, Your Grace?” she teased in return.

“You? Never.”

Gideon could not believe his behavior. Who was this man flitting about the room, serving food and teasing light-heartedly?

A smitten fool, that’s what.
