“He’s the brother who can’t keep his eyes off his baby mama,” Jules says.
Jennifer and I exchange a glance that tells the world she’s not wrong.
“Seriously, Fitz, if your staring gets any more intense, Jennifer’s dress is going to spontaneously combust,” Keira teases.
“Hey, no complaints from this baby mama,” Jennifer says, leaning into me.
“He looks like he’s about three seconds away from throwing you over his shoulder and carrying you out of his brother’s wedding reception,” Leni says.
“He can hear you,” I point out.
“And I’m pregnant,” Jennifer says. “He’s not carrying me anywhere.”
“Please,” Keira says. “Like that’s ever stopped him before? Two words. Bra Brigade.”
Jennifer buries her face in my shoulder.
That’s a day I’ll never forget. She was sunbathing with the Bra Bridgaders, wearing tiny shorts and a pink lace bra that barely contained her breasts. You’re damn right I carried her off and did dirty things to her. Moments like that were made for us, and I plan to take advantage of every single one of them.
Leni sips her champagne and says, “Have you heard from Mia?”
Reggie took her to Santorini yesterday for a two-week vacation.
“Yes,” Jennifer exclaims. “She sent me a picture of the two of them holding up wineglasses, and her text said she’s trying to figure out how to survive being obsessed with her gorgeous man.”
“Aw,” Jules says. “I love Reggie. I’m glad they’re together.”
“As someone who has struggled with letting people in, I’m glad he finally followed his heart,” Jennifer says.
“I guess once you get shot and confess your feelings in a hospital covered in blood, there’s no turning back,” Leni says.
“I’m happy for them, but also crazy jealous of all of you,” Bellamy says.
“You’re going to find your true love when you go to LA,” Jules says. “When do you leave again?”
“When are you going to LA?” Grant asks.
“Thanks, Jules,” Bellamy says flatly.
“Shoot! Sorry, Belly,” Jules says. “I forgot it was a secret.”
I look at Bellamy. “What is a secret?”
“I was finally accepted to be a contestant on InstaLove,” she says with her chin held high.
“What?” Grant and I demand in unison.
Jennifer stares at Bellamy in horror. “The reality dating show? Why would you subject yourself to that?”
“Because every eligible bachelor on this island is either related to me, friends with my brothers, or smart enough to be terrified of them,” Bellamy insists. “Besides, I like small-town hearts, but I want big-city heat.”
Keira chokes on her drink, laughing.
“Jesus,” Grant mutters.
“I did not need to know that.” I down my drink.
“Okay, I get what you’re saying, Bellamy, but still,” Jennifer says. “You would willingly televise your emotional breakdown for millions of keyboard warriors to tear you to pieces?”
