implying that I give different treatment based on vibes? If that’s the case, you couldn't be further from
the truth. Everyone gets the same treatment. I’m just saying people with bad attitudes and vibes make
it harder on me. Like, why get on a massage therapist’s table if you don’t even want to be there? It’s
not like we’re forcing you, you know. That’s the part I don’t understand. The ones that are angry to be
getting massages.”
“Well, there are plenty of reasons one would seek out a masseuse. I can only assume the angry or
upset ones are the ones not getting what they pay for.”
Normally, I don’t let clients get under my skin, but honestly, I can’t understand what Master
Aiden’s problem is. “Am I not giving you what you’ve paid for? Seeing as you don’t actually have to
pay. It’s a free service to you. Are you upset at my technique? Am I not going deep enough for you?”
“Well,” he says as he props himself up to look at me. “Since you’re asking, I was expecting
something a bit different. Yes. But let’s start with this ensemble. If I wanted to look at someone in
scrubs, I would have just gone down to see the physical therapist in my office. I thought you’d be in a
corset and thong or something.”
Taken aback, I ease myself back and stare down at my uniform. “There is nothing at all wrong
with my scrubs. It’s what I wear for every massage. How in the hell would a corset be appropriate
work attire, much less comfortable enough for me to do my job in.” There has to be some mistake,
some glitch between us.
“If you were attracted to one of your clients, wouldn’t you go out of your way to look sexy for
them? Even, I don’t know, flirt with them a little?”
Stunned, I stare down at him. I’m not even sure how to answer that. Am I attracted to him? Hell
yeah, or at least I was before I knew he was an egotistical asshole. But that doesn’t negate the
professionalism I’m supposed to have as a massage therapist. “I’m not allowed to be attracted to
clients. That’s called a conflict of interest. If it were outside of the massage room, then that’s another
story. But as it is, no. Just because I’m attracted to someone doesn’t mean I change up the protocol for
them. The scrubs stay.”
Just admitting it out loud like that sends a tendril of panic through my body. All I know is, after
tonight, I’ll either have to dismiss him as my client so I can pursue a more carnal relationship or keep
him but move him to the same category as all the other ‘look but don’t touch inappropriately’ clients.
“But do they have to be so baggy? I don’t see why you need that loose when all you do is move
