your wishes and happiness are fulfilled. It’s with great agony that I release you from our dynamic.

Hopefully, the next Dominant you have will be just as mindful of your self-sacrifice and know

when to put you before them.

Please trust me that I only have your best interests at heart. I know my leaving comes at a very

inopportune time, but honestly, when do goodbyes ever happen when we want them? Promise me

you’ll be happy. If I leave you with anything, it’s the command to thrive and flourish despite this

small setback.

Black Light will catch you and hold you up. Lean on them when you need to.

Also, I’ve paid for the maids for the next year. That should be enough time to find another

suitable replacement. You really should take better care of yourself, minx, and I only regret that I

cannot continue to be that force of good in your life.

With deep affection,

Aiden St. James

THE PAPER TREMBLES IN MY HAND AS TEARS SMEAR THE INK. AT LEAST HE HAD THE GOOD SENSE TO

handwrite it instead of printing me a generic, typed letter. When did he even do this? Was it after he

fucked me again and tucked me into bed? Was it before he even played with me at Black Light,

knowing he wouldn’t be able to do it after we’d played?

A howl of outrage pours from my body as I rip the letter to shreds. How dare he do this to me!

How dare he leave me like this! Spouting off that it’s better for me? What is better about this?

What is better about going to work with a hole where my heart once resided?

Picking up the phone, I dial the spa and wait for the receptionist to pick up. At this rate, I won’t

even have to fake that I’m sick. Bile churns in my gut and crawls up my throat, scorching the raw skin.

Thankfully, my books aren’t super full today, and they’re able to move my appointments over.

There’s no way I’ll be able to function with the way I’m feeling right now. Tears stream down my

cheeks as I race toward the bathroom, barely making it to the toilet before the contents of last night

come surging forward.

My body quakes as I grip the cool porcelain, oscillating between sobbing and retching. We never

made any long-term commitment, but I thought it was understood. I thought we were together for the

long haul. At the very least, I thought I’d get closure.

Instead, I’m left with a ripped-up note and absolutely no answers.
