Chuckling, I place my medical bag and violet wand kit up on the bar and flash him a bright smile.

“I wanted to make sure I was here in time to reserve the medical room before anyone else. I want to

play with Lila as soon as she’s done this evening.”

Klara’s disgruntled harrumph reaches my ears before she pops up from behind the bar. “You’re

not going to let her relax and unwind for a moment? You do know she’s still working tonight. And

that’s after a full day of massage.”

“Yes,” I grind out, gritting my teeth. “She is my submissive after all. I think I’m aware of her

schedule.”

“And yet you’re still going to insist on playing with her tonight?” Klara presses, her voice

becoming more strident with each word.”

Whirling around, I pin her with a glare. “Listen—”

“You better mind your tone with my Klara,” Spencer growls, his hands bunching into fists.

Letting my gaze slide over him, my lips quirk up into a sardonic smile. “This is for both of you, so

you can listen too, Spencer. None of you have any problem taking advantage of her by getting free

massages here at the club even though it’s clear she’s wearing herself thin. So, I don’t want to hear it.

Lila and I have negotiated, and I know what her limits are. I know how hard she works. And before

you think I don’t have her best interests at heart, I’ve given her the option of quitting here all together

and allowing me to pay for her membership.”

Klara looks down at the space behind the bar, her anger fading. “I didn’t realize —”

“No. You didn’t. I made one colossal fuck up, and you’re still holding it against me. But trust me,

Lila and I have had this conversation. I’m never going to force her to stop doing what she loves, and

that’s why the onus is on me to control our play after she’s had a rough day. So, if you’re not going to

fuss at any other Dominant for playing with a sub who’s worked all day, you sure as hell don’t get the

right to fuss at me.”

Unwilling to entertain the conversation any further, I grab my cases and head toward the medical

room. “I’m reserving the room for as soon as Lila is done,” I call back over my shoulder. “If she’s

unable to play, I’ll open it back up for someone else.”

Spencer doesn’t bother to shout anything smartass in return, which tells me more about my current

state of mind than the irritation sizzling down my spine as I enter what should be my safe space.

Somehow, the room feels tainted tonight.
