into a grin as I make my way close to her face, leaning down to skim her lips with mine. “Tell me

something, Lila. How is it that one as young as you can claim to be so knowledgeable about medical

things?”

She pulls her head back and stares at me, dumbfounded by my question. “I studied. I went to

school. Same as you.”

“Oh no. Not the same as me,” I clarify, sliding my fingertips down her cheek. “You have a degree

in massage therapy. Or an AAS if you will. I have an M.D. So, very much not the same.”

Her eyes narrow as she stares at me. I know this is a hot-button topic, and that’s why I keep

bringing it up. I love the wildness in her when she thinks I’m putting either her or her profession

down.

“Still paying off your quarter of a million in student loans?” she spits back. “I have my degree and

license free and clear.”

Leaning down, I tap the tip of her nose with my finger, smirking at the disgruntled look on her

face. “Same here. Hard work and scholarships make a difference. I owe nothing to anyone. But then,

my job afforded me enough material wealth that it was a non-issue. But we’re not here to discuss

money. We’re here to discuss your claims.” Pausing, I take the wheel and hold it up to her face. “I’m

going to have you put your body where your mouth is.”

A shiver of lust slides down my spine as I stare at her quivering form. I can tell she’s thinking

hard about my words, attempting to figure out what I plan to do. But there’s no way she can even

begin to imagine what I have in store. Picking up the small crop from my bag, I step to her side and let

the crop smack her lower lips.

Her small yelp of discomfort sends shards of possessive need through my brain. I need to make

her cry, to see the tears fall from her face. When I face her again, a light sheen covers her eyes, but no

tears have fallen yet.

“Let us begin.”

CHAPTER 13

I STUDY THE MAN IN FRONT OF ME, DOING MY BEST TO IGNORE THE STINGING SENSATION WHERE HE

struck me with the crop. I’ve only had someone use a crop between my legs a few times before, and I

hated it each time. But it’s the shiny wheel that fills me with a trepidation that makes my stomach
