Rory slides up from the floor, his lips curling up into a feral grin. We’ve played this game before. Most of the time, the women were so strung out they didn’t give a damn what we did as long as it ended with an orgasm, but now, we find ourselves in a unique position to actually play with our food. No. More than food. Rory and my eyes lock, and it’s clear we’re both thinking the same thing.

Mine.

Can I truly share her with him? Over the last year, he’s become the closest thing to a brother I could ever imagine in a place like this. We think the same, act the same. Training him was easier than breathing. There’s a sense of peace between us. A camaraderie I didn’t share with anyone else. We’ve shared women hundreds of times, but this is the first instance where actual stakes were involved.

Glancing down at Lissa, I note her wide eyes as she looks between the two of us. There’s the scent of fear there, of course, but underneath that hint of smoke is the strong scent of arousal. Stronger and headier than anything I’d ever smelled coming from her before. Oh, this little mortal wants to play.

She shifts about like a rabbit ready to dart, her body twitching at the slightest sound. It screams out victim. It demands the animal in me to hunt her down and consume her. Rory stands primed next to me, his chest heaving as he takes in her delicious aroma.

“Run.”

She doesn’t have to be told twice. Lissa whirls around, her hair streaming behind her as she takes off the way they came. I watch in amusement as she tries the door, knowing full well it won’t open to her. Her body isn’t the right temperature, and it won’t be until I’ve turned her. Still, like any human facing the real threat of death, she beats upon the wood, screaming herself hoarse.

It’s a good thing all the other humans are actually drugged, but still, the vampires glare at us, angry at us for disrupting their scene. Shrugging, I let her continue for a moment or two more before stalking forward. Her brain finally clicks into gear, and she changes direction, running past us and into the actual dungeon.

“What do you propose we do?”

I glance over at Rory, keeping my eye on Lissa as she weaves herself in and out of scenes, causing even more disruption. I laugh, knowing full well I’ll have to answer for this at some point, but not right now. Right now, I’m letting the monster in me stretch a bit, watching its prey before springing into action.

“I don’t give a fuck what you do,” I murmur, “but I’m turning her. I’ve already gotten permission. What I need to decide is if I actually share her with you or not.”

“Hey. I brought her here. She’s mine.”

Hissing, I whirl around, affecting my fiercest glare. “You don’t get it, do you. This is my human. The one I tried making a life with. The one -.”

“The one whose heart you broke. The one that made her tear up. You’re the prick I intended to kill. Fitting.”

“Try it.” I hold my arms out wide, giving Rory a free shot, but he doesn’t take it. Instead, he stares past me, his eyes softening at whatever antics Lissa is pulling. I can’t blame the man. She had me smitten as well.

“I don’t want to share her,” I admit, my eyes following his. Lissa still darts about, the frantic energy starting to rub off onto the other humans. We need to rein her in soon.

“Neither do I,” Rory agrees. “But truthfully, you’re the only other vampire I could attempt this with and not want to immediately kill.”

“Same. Ironically. What do you say? Trial run? We both play with her. If we can manage tonight without bloodshed,” I pause as a smirk lifts my lips. “Well, our bloodshed, then we can make this work. But know this. She will always be mine first. I will be the one to turn her, and I will always have access. You will just be there to assist in her pleasure. Nothing more.”

He stands there for a moment, a frown pulling his brows down into a scowl. “What about a bet?”

“A bet?” I have to repeat it back, unable to believe I heard correctly.

“Yes. You get her off more times than me, and I’ll be content just being a second hand, a fuck buddy to wrest out pleasure from her body, but nothing more. If I get her off more times, then I’m an equal partner in this relationship. We will form a triad. Vampires do it all the time.”

“Yes, but usually it’s all three of them fucking each other. I have no desire to fuck you. No offense.”

“None taken. I don’t exactly relish the idea of fucking your either. So we’re in agreement. I just want equal access. I can fuck her at will just the same as you. And we can fuck her together whenever we both want to.”

I mull over his words, looking for some sort of catch or trap. Rory is still young, not really as jaded as other vampires, but there’s still the possibility of an underlying motive. But when I look at him again, the longing in his eyes as he searches for Lissa is telling. Damn it. He wants her just as much as I do.

Reaching out my hand, I grasp his, sealing our bet. I’ll see how we play together with her first. If she takes to both of us, then win or lose, I won’t keep him from her. Besides, at the end of the day, if we’re both getting what we want, then what’s the harm. With both of us guarding her, then I’ll feel much better about turning her.

I can’t take the chance of anything happening to Lissa. She’s far too precious. And the vibes I’m getting from Rory is that he’ll protect her with his dying breath. Hell, he threatened to fight me for her. That shows that he has more balls than brains where she’s concerned.

“Agreed.”

CHAPTER 5

Lissa

What in the actual fuck is happening? Every time I turn a corner, it’s one lurid scene after another. I felt self-conscious just looking at porn in the privacy of my own home, and even the few videos I saw were tame compared to this. Screams of pleasure bounce around, filling my head as I look for a place to hide.
