Chapter 8

Annora

Gone are the bright lights, and instead, there’s a murky darkness. Not scary exactly, but still terrifying in the unknown. I’m still strapped down, and despite how hard I jerk against my restraints, they barely budge. Just that show of will sends a thread of exhaustion through me. The skin of my forearm screams at me, but I don’t dare look. If the pain is any indicator, the limb is sure to be a raw hunk of meat.

My clothes are nowhere to be found, and again the sense of foreboding fills my body until I’m unable to even think. I know I’m bound for the auction house, but that means nothing to me. I’ve never been to one of these. To do so would be to put Karis and me at risk. Pristine women don’t visit the underbelly of Stanlion. They just don’t.

Muffled yells and, even worse, sobs meet my ears. I must be in some sort of waiting area. Glancing down, my breath stills as I stare at my feet propped up and chained, spreading my legs open for any who wants to look at me. Beneath the abject terror, shame rises up at how exposed I am. I’m bent almost in half, the gurney folded up until I’m nearly sitting.

To be in this situation means that I have failed as a woman. I don’t give two fucks about failing as an omega. I gave up caring the moment I chose to continue with the suppressants instead of coming clean when my parents were killed. I knew the risks going into this, but I chose my fate. Never once did I choose to be humiliated in this way. No woman should ever have to face this.

A familiar stench fills my nostrils as Caulder comes into view, and I freeze, refusing to look at him as he circles my gurney. The sounds and grunts he makes as he positions himself between my legs are crude. Instead of the fluttering feelings of desire the elicit stories lie about, I’m filled with revulsion as he slides the tip of himself along my exposed folds.

The gag is still in my mouth, rendering me unable to even scream for help. What good would it do? If I’m to be auctioned anyway, what’s keeping him from having his fun. Perhaps the auction is over, and he already bought me?

“What are you doing to her?”

Caulder snaps back, hands going to the small of his back like a good soldier. My eyes flutter closed for a moment as relief floods through me. Perhaps I have a savior after all. When I open them again, the sneer from High Echelon Alpha Varnack swims into view. Not saved after all.

“Am I going to have to inspect her again? You haven’t won her yet. She’s next, so if you want any hopes of getting this traitor to her dynamic, you better leave now.” He nods and starts to turn when the High Echelon Alpha speaks again. “And if I see your cock out in front of another pristine, I don’t give a fuck how you’re related to me. I will cut it off.”

Caulder pales for a moment and stuffs his softening cock inside of his pants before spearing me with a look of such hatred that I quiver at the intensity. It’s as if he blames me for everything. Me. I never once did anything to provoke him. He decided on his own that I was his.

“Well, my little omega. Seems you have an audience who’s dying to see you.”
