“The High Echelon Alpha would know,” I whimper, sending every prayer I know up to the heavens. “He - he saw me before. Inspected me. He would know it was you.”

Growling, he pulls out and looms over me, pushing my knees down into my chest. I yelp and squirm, anything to be free of the pressure. “I am an Alpha of high rank. You’re nothing but a waste of slick. You think once I own you, that will make a difference? Because I will have you, one way or another.”

“Please.” I detest the weak tremor in my voice. I should be strong, proud. But how can I when this Alpha has degraded me into nothing? I have only one virtue left. If he takes that, then I’m worthless. Who’s even to say he’ll bid on me once I’m soiled? I’ve heard enough tales of omegas being sent to breeding camps to be mounted by Alphas whenever the rut hit them. What’s keeping him from sending me there?

“Why should I listen to you?” He lowers himself more, and the thick ridge of his cock grinds against me, proving his intent. Holding my gaze, he slips his hand in between us, fiddling with the zipper of his pants. Each click is like a death knell, and I know my defilement is soon. Tears flood my eyes, but I don’t care. Let him think I'm weak.

Maybe he’ll take pity on me. Besides, as it is, it’s far too exhausting to remain strong. Once his pants are unzipped, his cock springs free, landing on my exposed lips with a sickening thud. Caulder reaches up, his thumb brushing against my eyelids. “Shhh, little omega. I’ll make sure it hurts every time I mount you. That way, you can repent of your sins until you meet Ilaria.”

He pulls back, and the thick head of his cock notches in my opening. Wailing, I mutter my pleas, but he doesn’t listen. My only saving grace is when his com crackles, Derek’s voice filling the transport.

“She’s not here.”

Yanking back away from me, he sits back on his haunches, fury twisting his face. My legs scream at me as they fall to the floor, but relief overrides any of the discomfort. “What do you mean she’s not there?”

“There’s no sign of her at the education campus or at home. We have Guardian’s scouring the districts for her, but we haven’t caught any sign of her. High Echelon Alpha Varnack wants you at The Capitol now. He demands a report in person.”

Clicking off his com, he stands and roars, shaking the transport in his fury. “What did you do, omega? Tell me!” He grips the front of my shirt and hurls me forward, anger rolling off of him in violent, shimmery waves. Quakes overcome my body until I’m practically shaking in his arms. “I asked you a question, omega. Answer me.”

“I - I - she’s missing?” I infuse as much incredulity as I can into the question, hoping he’ll not blame me. Closing my eyes, I shoot a mental message to Karis, demanding she stay put. I know it’s silly, and I know she won’t actually get it, but at this point, anything other than accessing my datacom will have to do.

Snarling, he pushes me to the side and digs through my pockets until he pulls out my datacom. For what I paid for the modification, it better have worked. He switches it on and pushes various buttons, his face twisting increasingly with each failed attempt. There should be no trace. Nothing to show that a message had even been sent.

Combing through my brain, I try to recall the last thing I wrote to her, just in case he questions me about it. Lifting the com to my face, I force my eyes to focus on the screen, reading the small print. “You wished her a good day at school. That’s the only time you spoke to her?”

“I can’t message and do illicit deals at the same time, now can I?”

Caulder doesn’t answer. Instead, he raises his hand back and lets it fly across my face. Pain explodes in my head as his hand strikes me hard. Blood fills my mouth, and my tongue soon finds a cut in my lower lip. It was completely my fault. Why in Ilaria did I think it was smart to sass at him when he’s furious like this?

“Caulder, I don’t know what you’re doing, but get here now.”

“Roger. Tell High Echelon Alpha Varnack that I’m dealing with a rogue omega set for the auction house. I’ll be there after I drop her off.”

Kneeling down, he grabs my hair, yanking my head backward. Before I can protest, he pulls out a needle, plunging it deep into my neck. The small bite of pain disappears as sleep begins to overtake me.
