I slammed his door behind me and walked out to my car. As I sat in the driver's seat, I let out a scream. I pulled away from Shyheim’s place and headed home, wiping tears from my eyes when my phone dinged with a notification.

An email from Rosama’s lawyer. I picked up my phone and called him, already knowing it would go to voicemail.

“I AM NOT SIGNING IT, ROSAMA! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO LEAVE ME! HAVE YOUR FUN WITH THAT BITCH ‘CAUSE YOU ARE COMING BACK HOME TO ME!”

I hung up the phone while breathing heavily, trying to get myself together.

“I don’t care what anybody says,” I mumbled under my breath. “Rosama is not leaving me!”

Chapter 24

Nylah

Iwas in Manhattan at Mood, shopping for fabric and on the phone planning a night out with my girls.

“You finally have time to come out with us?” Raven asked.

I laughed. “You act like I'm neva around. I just seen y’all bitches.”

“Yeah, but you haven’t been out with us,” Ari added.

“I know. And y’all wanted me to get a new man, and I did, and he been stepping for me.”

“Which is why I wouldn’t listen to them bitches,” Denise chimed in. “Do you, boo, and stay home with your man.”

We all laughed. “But for real tho, I am ready for a night out with y’all before Rosama's birthday. His people are having a party for him, then we are taking a baecation.”

“Oh, shit,” Raven said.

“Are we invited to the party?” Ari asked.

“Yes, y’all definitely need to come through.”

The topic shortly changed to the fabric I was looking at when Denise changed it back to Rosama.

“What happened after you got him outta jail?”

I smiled as I got a flashback. “He took me home and took care of me, then paid me not to do crazy ass dress.”

“See there, ladies, that’s why she has been in the house,” Denise said.

“Y’all got me weak, but after I went to sleep, I could have sworn he left, but when I woke back up, he was layin’ next to me.”

“Did you ask him?” Ari asked.

I shook my head. “No, because he was beside me when I woke up.”

“Are you worried?” Denise asked.

I was about to respond when I heard a beep in my ear and was getting another call.

“Hold on y’all, I’ma have to call y’all back. Rosama callin’.”

“Tell pit bull we said hiii,” Raven said as I hung up on them and clicked ova.

“Hey, baby.”

“Wussup, ma?” he said. His deep voice made me smile like it was required.
