She caught the edge of black ink.

Another button. He pulled open the shirt, showing off his fabulous chest. Those strong muscles. And the black spider web. Over his heart.

She blinked.

“It’s Charlotte’s web,” he explained. “Your web. You’ll mark me until I die. Hell, you mark me, inside and out. You own me, every single part of me. I love—”

He didn’t get to finish. She’d launched at him. Charlotte pulled Logan toward her, and she kissed her husband with wild, stark passion.

And with deep, true love.

Mission accomplished.

That night, Logan held Charlotte against him as she slept in their bed. Not that they’d be continuing to live in the hotel suite for much longer. Oh, no, they needed a house. A big one, because Charlotte wanted a lot of kids. A big house, one that included a big yard.

Kids needed room to play.

She snuggled against him. All soft and warm and his.

Mission accomplished.

He’d completed all the steps on his to-do list.

Step one…marry her. Done. But if she wanted a fancy second ceremony, he’d do that. As he’d told her numerous times, he’d give her anything she wanted in this world.

Plus, Simone—his foster sister turned forever family—had given him hell about getting married without inviting her to the ceremony. Jamar had done the same to Charlotte. If they didn’t have a second ceremony, he and Charlotte would at least throw one big-ass party to celebrate. But, on to other things…

Step two…Fuck her until she screams my name. Oh, but he loved doing that step, over and over and over again. He’d be repeating it, forever.

Step three…Convince her to love me. Because he was one lucky bastard, Charlotte did love him. He was particularly grateful for that miracle.

Step four…Kill the bastard who’d drugged her. So done. As if he would have let that creep keep drawing breath.

So…mission accomplished.

Time to come up with new plans. He did love to be goal oriented.

New agenda item…buy Charlotte the perfect house. They’d make that house into a home.

Find the cutest dog in the world. He just, yeah, he wanted a damn dog. So did she.

Have kids. Spoil them. Love them. Did he panic a little at the thought of kids? Maybe. He didn’t want to screw anything up. He wanted to be a good father. And he would be. He’d take the kids to baseball games. He’d use his mom’s old cinnamon roll recipe and he’d—

“Logan.” Charlotte’s sleepy voice. “I can practically feel the wheels spinning in your head.” A soft yawn. “What’s wrong?”

He had his wife in his arms. “Nothing.” Nothing at all. In fact, this might just be the most right that his world had been in years.

“Then what are you thinking about so hard?”

He smiled at her. Though she couldn’t see the smile in the dark. “Just making plans.”

“Plans for what?”

Plans to be the best husband he could possibly be. Husband, father. I want to be the man she needs. The man our future children will need. “I will not let you down,” he vowed.

“I know that.” Soft words. “Logan, I trust you completely. I love you.”

He would never, ever get tired of those words.
