“Aren’t you going to answer? I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt. Maybe you have a good reason for not filling her mouth with bullets,” he hisses.

“You said yourself that it would help us get to him.”

“Yeah, but we don’t need her now, save her for later. I can take care of Ray myself, you better focus on Norman and the damn snitch.” I raise an eyebrow as I smile with mockery. He sighs and gets up from the chair. “I understand that you still like her. She is a great piece of ass, but you’re going to have to find another pussy to fill.” The only thing that keeps me from punching him in the face is the memory of her green eyes.

We both know in the end I will do whatever the fuck I want. I no longer see the point in trying to stay away from her if we are no secret to anyone anyway. Besides, after all, my father has become a fucking useless piece of shit over time. The little he does, he does badly. Just look at the idiot he found for us in Mexico as a partner. I’d deal with that soon enough, but the main problem now is her fucking father and finding a way to keep mine at bay.

“Ready?” Grace asks impatiently from the other side of the bathroom door.

I press my lips together, thinking about his response when I asked him what he had done with my clothes. He sent me a photo of a small bonfire with my pants. How does he manage to get into my bedroom whenever he wants?

“Yeah, I’m almost out,” I say as I tap my fingers on the screen of my cell phone angrily.

Me: Have you lost your mind? Those were MY clothes.

Alek: The pants are uncomfortable, lyubov’.

Me: Uncomfortable for whom? You’re crazy.

I exhale, my cheeks flushed with rage. Just rage. His reply comes in a matter of seconds.

Alek: For both of us. Any obstacle that gets between my fingers and my pussy is not welcome. And watch your language.

I open my eyes in disbelief, my face redder than ever. God, why does he have to be so foul-mouthed? I’m constantly writing and deleting messages without sending them, ignoring the fact that he referred to my private parts as if they were his.

Alek: I don’t like the panties either, we’ll have to do something about that.

I blink at the screen, swallowing hard, unable to believe that he really wrote that.

Me: What? You plan on me walking around naked now?

Alek: No. My blood looks good on you.

The flush of my cheeks grows warmer as I remember that night. I send him an emoji giving him the middle finger and leave the bathroom with embarrassment all over my body.

“Are you okay? You’re red.”

“Yeah. Everything’s fine.” I force myself to smile and put on my best face.

My phone vibrates with an incoming call. Knowing who it is, I don’t plan on answering. Until Grace approaches with curious eyes and speaks.

“Is that him? Put it on speakerphone.”

“Hello.”

On the outside I look carefree, but on the inside I’m praying he won’t bring up the subject from earlier again. I wouldn’t know how to explain that to Grace. Not that, or any of our interactions so far. Our relationship is… peculiar.

“How are you?”

“Fine.”

Grace make a gesture with her hand, urging me to say something else, but my brain seems to be short-circuiting.

“Would you like to go out for dinner?”

I press my lips together as Grace starts jumping up and down, more excited than I am. Seeing that I’m not going to answer, she gives me a thumbs up with a big smile.

“I already have plans, but if you want we can leave it for another day.”
