“No, I did not. I don’t like children and… well, I didn’t think my boyfriend liked them either. I mean, my ex-boyfriend.”

Thoughts of Anthony welled emotion in her chest, a knot choking her even as her new circumstances were much more dire. She could die, be irreparably harmed by these monsters, and she still cared about him. The one who had gotten her into this mess in the first place without even knowing.

Was he worried about her? Was she a missing person now? He probably didn’t even care, didn’t bother to call the police to tell them she was gone…

“Ex-boyfriend?” Vrix asked, his soft voice full of curiosity.

“My, uh, former romantic partner.”

He narrowed his eyes like he was trying to understand.

“Romantic partner?”

“Oh, um, you know, someone you have an emotional bond with. Intimacy, companionship and all that.”

All things she’d been missing with Anthony, now that she said them out loud.

Vrix nodded for a long while, as if gears were turning in his head.

“Dalgurs do not take romantic partners. We are encouraged to mix our seed and eggs so we can spread our broods across the galaxy, but we do not form intimate bonds. It is not our way.”

He paused, his voice catching for a second before he continued.

“Thase and I have hatched many clutches together…” He gripped her hip, a tentacle extending from his arm and slithering to her lower stomach. “I had hoped we could hatch one in you, but perhaps the pleasure you give us will do.”

Well, there it was, what Thase had mentioned before. They wanted her to hatch their weird little brood of eggs, but she was barren. God, she had been happy to get the hysterectomy, but now she was fucking ecstatic.

While the thought of being filled by Vrix and Thase was not as unappealing as it should have been, the image of little aliens bursting through her stomach like some horrific sci-fi movie made her want to throw up.

“You’ve… hatched clutches with Thase? I thought you were both male?”

“All Dalgurs are intersex. We create eggs and sperm and can reproduce with ourselves, though it is highly frowned upon. Genetic diversity is important.”

Giselle’s stomach rumbled again, and Vrix eyed her warily, his tentacle still brushing through the hair at her mound, dangerously close to her entrance.

“You are hungry?”

“Yes,” she nodded, clearing her throat. “And thirsty. And I need to go to the bathroom.”

Dried seed still coated her inner thighs and ass, an uncomfortable sensation.

He sat up, dragging her with him.

“This room is for you, sweet one.”

“My name is Giselle.”

“Oh, Giselle, yes, Giselle. A very pretty name for our pretty little pet.”

It was all too much, this alien horror movie that she couldn’t turn off. She gulped in a ragged breath, trying not to let fear overtake her.

Vrix must have noticed, because he wrapped his tentacles around her neck and she felt peace envelop her once more, numbing her mind and warming her limbs.

“Do not worry. Your anxiety scents the air, so sweet, so delicious. But we will take care of you.”

Take care of her. As if they’d done such a good job with the other humans.

He stepped out of the bed, heading for the chrome door Thase had exited through.
